A Dowg's Life

I’m a dowg. Woof.

An open letter to SRK.

Dear SRK,

First and foremost, let me congratulate you on creating the biggest ‘product’ in the history of Indian cinema. I call Ra.One a product simply because it’s not just about the mind-blowing (literally) experience you have provided in the theatre. It’s about the constant & consistent torture we have been through, ever since you started ‘dreaming’ about taking Bollywood a ‘step ahead’.

I have never been a fan of your acting skills except for maybe three movies. First (DDLJ) when I knew nothing about cinema or acting. I just wanted to be Raj Malhotra, not because you inspired me to be a better person, but because I wanted to get laid and my acne-prone face combined with zero conversation skills was just jealous of your onscreen persona. Second & third (Swades & Chak De) are probably your best movies till date. To be honest, according to me, you were incredibly believable in the movie only because you chose not to be yourself and stopped your gimmicky acts.

Having said that, I have been the biggest fan of your marketing skills. You, Sir, are a beast when it comes to doing justice to the product you endorse. Nobody, and I mean nobody, can do a better job than you at providing value for money to your investors. If you ever think about conducting lectures on marketing & promotion skills, I promise I’ll even pay to be there. (Provided it’s affordable, which I highly doubt.)

Anyway, that’s all in the past. The present belongs to you and Ra.One (The movie, not Arjun Rampal).

I’ll be honest; I was forced to watch your movie. I tried my level best to get out of the evil plan conspired by my mother & my wife, and I failed. But, as they say, at times, there are blessings in disguise. I am glad I went for the movie. I have learned a lot & contrary to the popular opinion, I found many social messages hidden in this epic movie.

I loved the way in which you summed up the reasons behind the global recession. You did it in the very first scene. The investors & stockholders should lose money if they invest without the thorough knowledge of what they are investing into. It was great to see big-chested Shahana Goswami talk in Hindi in front of foreign delegates and then watching them jump around like bunch of schoolgirls about a technology, which evolved a decade ago!

You then went on to show the power of dreams. I thought that the longhaired girl, who acted as your son in the movie, was exceptional. For me, she was the real star of the movie. I was surprised to know that she wasn’t the director of the movie.

I can’t even begin to express my joy when I saw Kareena Kapoor. No, not because she looked like the yummy white butter made from fresh milk, but for her first few dialogues. It’s been long since someone took a stand about woman’s empowerment in Bollywood commercial movies. Her strong desire for eradicating all the abuses directed towards mothers & sister and starting a new trend with cussing the fathers & brothers is applause worthy. Also, considering the fact that you have promoted this movie keeping in mind the children of today’s India, it makes perfect sense to teach them the art of cussing from an early age. Terms like, Iski lee, Uski lee, Sabki lee, Condom-condom, Bhai ka bhocha, Tere baap ka poda etc would have definitely made a strong impact on the young minds. Bravo!

I wondered at first, as to why would you change your look so drastically that the audience would fail to even recognize you? Slowly, I understood the reason. You wanted to give hope to the many millions who have no etiquettes, lack common sense and are downright cowards with zero self respect but still desire to nail a hot chick. The specially designed pubic hairpiece was a masterstroke. Your South Indian accent was unreal but what was most noteworthy was the fact how effortlessly you forgot about the accent & spoke in fluent Hindi in most of the scenes. Also, I loved the way you butchered Michael Jackson’s steps in front of your children; a fitting reply to someone who did “BAD” things to these little angels.

In your earlier movies you have ventured with the thought of loving your family but in this movie, you have hit the nail right on the head. It’s all about keeping your children happy. The way you listen to your son & went out of your way to fulfill his unrealistic & almost stubborn demands was incredibly…erm, believable. If it were me, I would have slapped the little rascal and grounded him for days. Again, young minds watching this movie would have benefitted a lot by seeing your son banging the door on your face or calling you a coward in the middle of the road and getting away with it. It makes me really happy to know that the young India will now use the same language with their parents to get their work done. Wow!

You, Sir, have given out the gutsiest possible reply to the world. Not only did you outsource the music to the Americans, you followed it by mocking the black singer in one of your songs. This, to me, is the best example of India shining. We are not dependent on any of the first world countries; we have massive egos and even bigger bank balance to back it up. You have made me really proud. Thank you!

Most, if not all, of us fear death. But dare I say, I’m looking at it from a completely different perspective ever since I have seen your movie. I am thinking of canceling my insurance policies & other investment plans and buying a robot clone. If your movie is to be believed, a wife can get over her husband’s death even before the glycerin is wiped off her face. A child can forget about his father’s death and move on with life as long as he is given a ‘cool’ video game for company. Infact, the ungrateful child will value, respect & accept the game far easier than he ever did with his father. Question, why didn’t you approach Fast Track for merchandise for these ‘We move on faster than the speed of light’ sequence of events in the movie? Also, it was incredibly brilliant of you to show that different religions can co-exist. Just two scenes & all the bitterness go away; Kareena was shown sprinkling the ‘ash’ after they have buried your dead body. Marvelous, I tell you!

I admire the manner in which you kept your audience guessing about the true origin of Kareena’s character. Her sudden Punjabi accent in the second half threw me off a little but I figured that you were probably hinting that we should remain true to the country rather than from specific states. Hindi is our national language and the accent should not matter. Infact, we should keep changing our accents as often as possible. Fuckin ace of a thought!

Needless to say, only a genius like yourself could manage to keep Arjun Rampal a secret, not just during the promotions but also, throughout the movie.

This movie is a giant leap for the special effects in Bollywood. Without a shadow of a doubt, Ra.One is the best-animated movie I have seen under any Indian banner. My only disappointment was Chitti. I thought you could have ridiculed Rajnikanth slightly more by making Chitti look even shittier. It’s clear that you tried your best, but I think you left some room for improvement. Also, what was wrong with that Chinese dude? Why was he acting like a machine once he was transformed into a machine? I mean, shouldn’t a new comer like him take notes from you and learn that even machines must have feelings and hamming expressions? He showed some potential but failed miserably by playing the role of a machine absolutely perfectly. Sigh!

As I mentioned earlier, you make every penny worth the troubles. Nobody could have even dared to show so many Hollywood movies in less than 2 & half hours. I mean, you stopped the train like Spiderman, saved your heroine & brought her to ground likeBatman, had a big hole in your chest with a fitting energy source like Ironman, protected the mother/son like a Terminator, rode a Tron bike and displayed a hero/villain rivalry straight from the Gerrard Butler movie – Gamers. Everything, in the price of one. Just one Bollywood movie encapsulates six of the biggest Hollywood blockbusters. Take a bow, dear writers!

I ended up spending around Rs. 1000, which seemed a lot at that moment. I was pissed, but soon after reaching home, I realized that the overpriced tickets were really your biggest contribution to the society. I did some mental calculations and realized that in Rs. 1000, I would have bought 200 cigarettes, which, in turn, would have reduced my life by 36.5 hours (yeah, one cigarette reduces life by 11 minutes).  By watching your movie, I lost only 2.5 hours of my life. So, technically, I gained 34 hours of my life. All thanks to you!

Last but certainly not the least, I would like to thank you for answering the oldest question known to mankind. “How many lawyers/presidents/cricketers/musicians/monkeys does it take to change a light bulb?” Answer is simple, it takes only one, yesONE, Rupees 150 Crore dreamer who mouths songs by an International artist, romances Arjun Rampal disguised as Kareena Kapoor, invades the privacy of a billion Indians, gives crap a new definition and runs to the banks laughing like a true Baadshah.

Finally, I sincerely hope that the following groups of people watch your movie:

>  Aspiring MBA students.

  • I am not sure what most management colleges teach, but you have surely taught one of the biggest lessons to these young boys and girls. It’s simple; the end product does not matter as long as everyone is hammered with non-stop promotions. You need not have any concept to the promotions as long as you can buy out each & every medium of branding. The age old saying is indeed true, “paisa fekh, tamasha dekh.”

>  Salman Khan & Akshaye Kumar loyalists.

  • If they thought that nothing could get worse than Tees Maar Khan or Bodyguard, you came along and proved them wrong. I have the utmost respect for you for enforcing the fact that there is always scope for improvement.

>  Aspiring Bollywood writers.

  • I sincerely hope that these guys watch your movie on repeat mode. Hopefully, they’ll choose another profession unless they have enough contacts to find themselves a big star to promote their movies or easily get ‘inspired’ by other movies.

>  Koreans, Japanese & Chinese nerds

  • These guys are doing it wrong. I hope they watch the movie & learn that creating the most complexed game & then bringing the characters to life is, in reality, a child’s play. All you need are four fancy screens with Matrix screensaver, ability to hit keyboard without typing anything and most important, an understanding mother like Kareena.

>  People who doubt their gut feeling and drift in life

  • I knew for a fact that this movie will be a big torture the moment I saw the first poster printed on the very first day of this year. I knew for a fact that the movie will break all the existing box office records without being a good cinema. I knew for a fact I will regret watching this movie. Unfortunately, I gave in to my family’s emotional drama and saw your ‘dream’ on big screen. I hope my experience is a lesson to those who doubt their gut feelings and start following their heart rather than the bullshit that surround us at all times.

Notes:

  • You looked the best for precisely 2 minutes & 20 seconds. It was during the promotion of Don 2.
  • Kareena Kapoor can be my chammak challo, anyday!
  • The loudest laughter during the epic was for the new History channel advert shown during the intermission. It featured Salman Khan.
  • I may have completely misinterpreted the movie thanks to my heavily diminished intellect.
  • You have lost a lot of loyal fans but have gained me, a new believer of “What doesn’t kill you; makes you stronger.”
  • This is not a movie review. I am not as educated, qualified or paid as Taran Adarsh.

Finally, I would like to say that everyone should watch this movie as thousands of people have worked endlessly on making this product, a reality.

Thank you, SRK. Thank you so very much.

You are so jealous with SRK. if the movie is so bad, it would not have earned 170 cr. in 5 days. does aamir or salman has paid you for writing this long fucking essay

      • Rik October 31, 2011 at 9:18 pm

well said my friend… it makes me think does Aamir or Salman has paid him for writing the “long fucking” essay..
        does indeed 😐

btw… too good dowg … I have someone else to follow on wordpress after Rangan 🙂

      • Nitin Gaopande November 1, 2011 at 3:18 am

Dude.. it would be an utter inability to use your brains, if you compare “goodness” of a movie with the earnings it has.

Do you know the the earnings of the movie are directly proportional to marketing spend in India. Every shitty movie that does huge marketing spend, is able to break even within 2 weeks max.

Bollywood brainless movies do huge huge promotions to ensure brainless watchers go and spend their hardwilled money watching a shitty movie and come out of the movie halls even more empty brains

      • Saahil Dama (@PsychoCritic) November 1, 2011 at 6:28 am

Since when has money begun accounting for credibility? By that definition Bodyguard is one of the best movies Bollywood made. And we all know how bad the movie was.
        Really, dork.

      • manoj November 1, 2011 at 7:31 am

jealous WITH srk? I pity WITH you.

      • Subhajit Roy Chowdhury November 1, 2011 at 7:39 am

Awesomely said dude…ad whoever abusing you,, either lunatic or they know nothing about cinema.. and about 150 crore,, he just earned it by selling broadcast right, sattelite rights,, music rights and creating a false gimmick.. else the film is the biggest flop of the decade… it should be named “memoirs of a mad man”

      • Haresh November 1, 2011 at 7:44 am

        Saiket, Get a life!

      • Jinesh November 1, 2011 at 8:22 am

Hello Saikat.. I think u r definitely paid by SRK..

      • Sibs November 1, 2011 at 8:34 am

        Hey Man!
Any person who have any common sense will have the same feeling.

      • Rtej November 1, 2011 at 8:40 am

170 crore in collections does not mean a profit and also the first day collections was far lower then that of bodyguard which was made at 25% of the cost of this one. Hope u understand that to recover 150 crores the movie needs to do 200 crores atleast else the distributors will be fuck*d as it is in the case of Ra One.

      • Keyur Seta November 1, 2011 at 11:36 am

Earning 170 crores doesn’t mean that majority of audience liked the movie. It simply means that a large number of people went to see the film. Just that. It doesn’t show the percentage of people who liked the film.

      • Puneet November 1, 2011 at 12:10 pm

        Saikat, LOL you!!!

      • Jay November 1, 2011 at 3:16 pm

it is because of the promotion and excitement to see srk movie, but eveyone came out dissapointed and many left in the intermission!

      • Rohit November 1, 2011 at 6:19 pm

And you appear phobic of Grammar and Logic… I would rather read this ‘Letter’ for 2 hours or longer than watch Ra-One.
Arindham Chaudhary, now I know why SRK is your Mascot! Seriously…
        IIPM=Ra-One

      • Ujjwal November 1, 2011 at 8:02 pm

Ha ha!! Jealous… having paid premium for such movie, the blogger has all the right to slam it. You download the movie from net, watch it N! times and jerk off !

      • Ranjan November 2, 2011 at 3:27 am

Dude Saikat ( what a crappy name) … Nobody is paying anybody except Shahrukh Khan to write hugely false revenue numbers on websites… I was following Wikipedia to see how Ra-One was doing though I never intended to watch the movie.. Until first 3 days, Ra-One had made Rs. 67 crore and its budget was Rs. 175 crore..suddenly on the 4th day, it makes a cumulative of Rs. 170( which mean Rs. 103 crores in one day) and the budget drops to Rs. 130 crores..on the 5th day the budget increases to Rs. 150 crores… How pathetic of SRK to still spend and try to make the movie look good..Why can’t he accept one failure and move on and concentrate on Don 2??

      • Rinku November 2, 2011 at 6:59 am

I also feel same as movie surely a one time watch…This guys belong to moon it seems…

      • 1111 November 2, 2011 at 8:27 am

U stupid 170 cr does not mean that movie is good it mean the avg ticket amt has been increased to rs 100 and avg population wathiching movie also has been increased.

      • Gaurav Sachdeva November 2, 2011 at 9:26 am

Jealous….!!! Hw can smbdy be jealous of SRK ( GOD of shit)…!!!

      • Philip Martin November 3, 2011 at 2:50 am

Appreciate the humor and get on with your life, asshole. Accept the fact that this was one helluva crap movie.

Dowgie boy, way to go pal. Gear up for the next one from SRK, you will have similar stuff to write I guess 😀

      • O'ner Banerjee November 3, 2011 at 7:00 am

maybe u need to know that a movie’s earnings has got nothin to do with people’s reaction towards the movie….everyone wanted to see what the movie was about and how the special effects + the visual effects were, when present generation of young animators are concerned….everybody saw the movie and now putting up a valuable essay about the movie, abt its pros and cons, abt the story…etc….whats yer fuckin problem.. you psychedelic nincompoop???all that money was earned from people who went there to see the movie for the first time….and not coz the movie is good or bad…get yer fuckin facts straight before you go googoo gaagaa over somebody criticizing a movie…or a sharukh “ass” movie…

      • Ashish November 3, 2011 at 7:54 am

Yeah there are so many jealous people, the number is so large that it divides the nation, and when at all he said its bad, he just said its different… and yeah i agree he must’ve been paid i mean who’ll go against his/her mom and wife and write such a creative piece.

      • Kiran November 3, 2011 at 9:07 am

        good one.

      • shreyajha22 November 3, 2011 at 10:09 am

Saikat bhaisaab… you need to acquire two skills:
        1. Logic in life
        2. GRAMMAR!!!!!!!!!

      • what November 3, 2011 at 10:39 am

You seem to have missed the point about marketing. Perhaps you should read the whole post before passing your potty-mouthed judgement.

      • Mohitosh Das November 3, 2011 at 6:12 pm

tis shows saket that u havent seen the moviee…

      • Sarvesh November 4, 2011 at 5:06 am

BUddy movie making 170Cr has no relation to being a quality movie. I guess Aamir & Salman already have better things to do than pay people to screw up other ppls movies. Thats SRK;s job when other actors movie releases.

      • Pritesh Bartakke November 4, 2011 at 11:30 am

        r u saying u liked the movie???

      • Charan Bhawnani November 4, 2011 at 2:10 pm

idiots watch such movie and make business! india is full of idiots and that’s no secret!
Rajnikant in this movie would have futher justified stupidity and of course the business would have doubled!

I am really very jealous of SRK…he can even sell shit in the market..

      • mhoindia November 5, 2011 at 8:10 am

only money doesn’t make you a good actor … first 5 days were all result of hype and marketing …

I can market a f* rat painting him red and earn money from people who don’t know what it is and that makes me a genius or an inventor isn’t it?

      • Vishakha November 7, 2011 at 6:55 am

i completele agree with this post and that SRK is overrated!

      • chirag shah November 9, 2011 at 6:58 pm

even BODYGUARD and WANTED were hits but I wouldn’t call them good films…The box office success isn’t always the measuring stick for quality…Grow up

        get lost dumbass!!

      • Chetan November 9, 2012 at 5:38 pm

u truly are genius by comparing earning of a movie with its being good. With that logic Ready, Rowdy Rathore and Bodyguard are all brilliant movies… and if you think these movies are good.. then I have nothing left to say to a man who does not know what a good movie is!

      • Haikal January 15, 2013 at 4:00 pm

Of course it’s easy for him to earn so much for that
movie.he got idiot like u watching it without realizing how stupid
the movie is..I don’t think the writer is a supporter of salman or
aamir…he is just stating the truth which u stupidly ignore…go
for an eye and brain check pls.

    • Sujeet Mahto November 1, 2011 at 10:02 am

      • Sumit November 1, 2011 at 6:33 pm

Sujeet ji – The length of this article is too short compared to the amount of grief which the public suffered on watching this movie.

wat a crap movie RA one is…shiiii….i dont understand one thing…why does shahrukh is shahrukh khan in nay of the roles.. why doesnt he get into character? i saw RAj and RAhul in G one…. when i saw swades and chak de…i saw did not saw shahrukh..i saw mohan bhargav and kabir khan..but in rest of the movies he is just same…. he has got an acting talent …no doubt about it…but he should work with better directors….

That was a really great write-up! I hope SRK and his mutual admiration society in Bollywood read this. Also his fanbot club on twitter!

    • Drishty November 1, 2011 at 7:19 pm

Its either indians dont understand the concept of sci fi or they are just too dumb to understand anything beyond the usual bollywood craps of romance with ten thousand coincidences. I think RA ONE was superb & well written. You guys should be proud of it, this movie took bollywood to the next level. WHAT M SAYING IS If you leave you brain at home to go watch RA ONE, chances are you’re not gonna like it.

      • Ujjwal November 1, 2011 at 8:12 pm

What ? Bharat Ratan for SRK for enlightening the ‘India Rising’ ? Or SRK for next PM… you call such shamelessly copied scene a movie ? Animation in Desi movies are still 100 light years from that of Hollywood. I cannot compare Ra-(G)One CGI even to that of Matrix (and that has a cult action scene movie) released over a decade ago. can you compare Ra-one with movies like Titanic/Avatar etc ?

You looser SRK C***k Suckers !!! Change your faith…. patronize neo-era good actors alike Abhay, Irfan, even Amir and changed Salman!!
As much as SRK is responsible for his is dismal, subclass and monotonic acting, mindless fans like you are responsible for NOT sending him the right message. With your blood money, he would continue to sabotage other good movies releasing around his release..

      • Riaz November 2, 2011 at 9:38 am

“WHAT M SAYING IS If you leave you brain at home to go watch RA ONE, chances are you’re not gonna like it.”———-that was a real brainless statement. 🙂

      • jeetu November 2, 2011 at 12:40 pm

first of all there’s no such thing as a /”concept” of sci-fi
        1st u are dumb…. accept it(read: screw urself in the sci-fi way)
3rd ra1 was a superbly made brain thrasher traumatizing anti social piece of shit
4th do u really think it was “WrIttEn”……common yaar(read: asshole)
        5th u must accept u are dumb

      • jamal November 3, 2011 at 7:16 am

drishty….i think you got it backwards…..u’ll only enjoy this movie if you leave ur brain at home…

      • Shalini November 3, 2011 at 7:20 am

I have watched pretty much every sci-fi movie out there. I LOVE this genre. Open your eyes and for once be honest with yourself Drishty – Ra.one is a disgrace and an insult to the genre of Sci-Fi. Spending money on special effects is not Sci-Fi – really thinking about the concept and use of new-age groundbreaking technologies and spending the effort to actually make it logical and believable – that’s Sci-Fi – and Ra.one did a shitty job of that. Gamers everywhere are going to be personally offended and will hate SRK forever.

      • Nitesh November 3, 2011 at 8:06 am

        Well written… Next level…. Get a life…
In full agreement with Saikat… Last year I thought Bollywood can’t get worse than Teesmaar Khan that this piece of shit is produced. Too dumb to understand the concept of “Sci-Fi”.
        Brilliant write-up…!!!!

      • shreyajha22 November 3, 2011 at 11:07 am

This had to come from a GIRL…. I am so embarrassed!!! Have u ever used your brain??? ever ever ever??? SCI FI??? tell me one thing Drishty… could you get the crux of MATRIX triology ???

      • Vinod Nair November 3, 2011 at 11:27 am

Drishty….i agree with you …..the movie was good enough and a good try to get Indian movies to the next level.

Shalini & Shreya are ga ga over Sci-Fi movies. I am sure they have never ever made one and are commenting with borrowed knowledge from a wrong source. As such, borrowed knowledge is free 🙂 These so called embarrassed girls are not aware that Ra One is not a Sci-Fi movie. Its just a imaginary super hero.

The movie was a definitely a good attempt. There will be many suckers who will feel bad of others sucess. But thats life.

      • rahulchauhanhul November 3, 2011 at 3:41 pm

@Vinod Nair: so you think a ‘hero’ and a ‘villain’ coming out of a video game is not sci-fi? tell me then, what exactly is ‘an imaginary super hero’? where does he come from…documentaries? Dude with the kind of knowledge you possess, you deserve a job at India TV.
and have YOU MADE a science fiction movie? If I were you, I would seriously check the sources from where I am BORROWING my knowledge from.

      • V November 4, 2011 at 3:32 pm

WHAT ??! what part of the movie did u like ? the part where the airport official’s drooling at the humanoid ? the part where child is so spoilt, i’d trash him ? the part where karishma’s welcomin her hubby home with her brand new gaalis ? or how she nd her son get over the death of their loved hubby/dad in a day at most !
or where do u need to use your brain ? to figure out how and why a american company launching a product in america to americans is using HIndi to do it ??!! how a guy who cannot figure out sarcasm from his boss is actually the team lead.. lets not even go to the HART and RA ONE and G ONE nameology !! how does Kareena whose one qualification is gaali in hindi is supporting herself jetting off between india and usa at drop of a hat. the ash after burial was also not understood only cos our brains got left behind…
Drishty the only sad part was i wish i HAD left my brains behind.. then i really wouldn’t have wondered !! this was worse than the Govinda David Dhawan crap that used to come out as movies a few decades ago !

      • Drishty November 10, 2011 at 7:00 pm

You are totally biased … It’s coz u hate the movie u agree with this writer… If u try to poke on every single details then u sure will find faults in movies like sholay, ddlj etc and …. It’s in India where movies such as dabaang becomes instant hit rather than other sensible movies… M not saying its the best movie ever but it’s not as bad as this letter proclaims …… Besides my comment wasn’t rude or anything atleast not as compared to this guy who wrote sucha a long ass comments disproving with everything esp SRK. Plus it’s true that Indians are not ready for sci fi cuz as you can see everyone is comparing it to Hollywood movies when they can’t understand that fictional movies such as RA OnE has the story of its own. All the action sequence was needed for the script. dont be comparing matrix with Ra one, obviously you will find fault. likewise, lets compare sholay with ‘godfather’, and you will know what senseless movie sholay is ..but thats not the fact. Well anywas I don’t really have time to be sitting here commenting on each and every negative comments bout the movie. It’s personal opinion, I gave you mine cuz I loved it. Sometimes ‘think outside the box’

To all you douches; watch “Harold and kumar- Christmas movie’ then you will understand what movies try to do. its just for entertainment. In this movie this lil girl smokes pot and swears and yet here in canada no one is crying over exploiting the kids.. psssttt…get a life people. dont live in la la land AKA bollywood its just an entertainment for couple hours and get over it and get back to your normal life if you have one.

      • Drishty November 12, 2011 at 3:49 pm

Quote Lady Gaga http://twitpic.com/78s6sr “screw hollywood, its all bout bollywood” hmmm arent you guys happy nuff that this movie put india in the map again? pssst. get a life losers.

  6. Vijayendra Vikram October 31, 2011 at 8:06 am

Dude, move on… Get a life. SRK can’t be dancing at weddings all the time. He needs better sources of income and this is what he thinks is the best one. Let him be, man. For now, buy a few packs of smokes and just puff it out…

  7. P (@color_gazer) October 31, 2011 at 8:18 am

  11. Megh Shah October 31, 2011 at 8:31 am

This is ,by far, the most freakingly amazing and sarcastic review I have ever read,of any movie for that matter. You outperformed every damn blogger that has ever existed. Just can’t get enough of this. Do NOT stop this. You have it in you. Marvelous !!

    P.S. You saved my 1000 bucks 😀

    • Drishty November 1, 2011 at 7:28 pm

I think indians are too dumb to understand the concept of sci fi. If you leave you brain at home to go watch RA ONE, chances are you’re not gonna like it. if you are one of those who gets entertained by movies like Dabaang which is full of crap yet people laughed their asses off cuz thats the best their tiny brain can take then save yourself $$ and dont go watch it.cuz such people will come back and write 10,000 words of full on crap about the movie & theres always gonna be idiots liking the blog. if not, then watch it for yourself and comment on it. dont be bias.

      • Ujjwal November 1, 2011 at 8:18 pm

        Mr/Miss Drishti …
You call it Sci-fi Movie … it is “Shamelessy-Copied-Movie” .. China Movie …. Download all the best Sc-Fi hollywood/World movies, pick good scene, put any CRAP in the screen play, put the entire nation under ‘Labor’ of 9 months of irritating promotion and loot junta with pricy tickets…

I saw two relatively low budget movies recently .. “Yeh Sali Zindagi” and “Saheb Bibi aur Gangster” … go and watch them…. 10 times better move…
And I bet you are an Art student since Class 8th.. and pretending to understand Science… Haha!!!

      • SiriN November 1, 2011 at 10:52 pm

Drishty – No one wants to listen to your drivel…. if Indians are too dumb to understand sci-fi, what nationality are you, or are you just as dumb as the rest of us!

      • Shalini November 3, 2011 at 7:23 am

You again? Please refer to comment above. Not wasting any more time on you because this time you’ve seriously pissed me off. Where do you get off insulting such a huge majority of people just because they have a life and don’t obsess over SRK like you do? Seriously girl, get a life. SRK doesn’t give a shit about you. He doesn’t even know you exist. And even if he did he only wants the money you spend on his film so he can recover his losses.

      • shreyajha22 November 4, 2011 at 4:15 pm

I chime in wid Shalini!!! U again!!!!!!
i guess u r suffering from COMPULSIVE SRK OBSESSION

      • RJ November 7, 2011 at 11:16 am

The fact that u still want to call this movie a sci-fi and still defending the movie goes to show the amount of grey matters lodged in ur head. In fact I am surprised that u haven’t yet invented time travel (or maybe I am too dumb to realise that it has already been done by u). u talk about bias. well let me say this from a very unbiased point of view. U cannot just simply explain the transformation of a piece of “software to hardware” with “artificial intelligence”. u cannot just stand on top of some building in London, extend ur hand and get all the data in the world in the form of digits! I wonder what the makers would have come up with had there not been an Iron Man in the recent years. the fact is that this was just a big ego massage for the King Khan.

      • Drishty November 11, 2011 at 7:19 am

You two girls are jokes. Losers I would say. Ey! m giving my personal opinion here so don’t butt in. && FYI I don’t even like shahrukh. I don’t judge the movie by the actors. M here cuz i dont agree with this writer thats y i was disapproving to his long ass crap. And thats what you guys should do. The only thing wrong bout the movie was kareena kapoor, I can’t stand her. yet I still liked the movie. You guys should get a life seriously:p

      • Drishty November 11, 2011 at 11:44 pm

Haha lol these two girls are sucha loser; first of all its my opinion, 2nd i was commenting on this article cuz this guy is being biased here. you girls have no life other then commenting on my comments? like really? dont you have your own opinion? just because you dont like the actor does not mean that the movie is bad. it was entertaining, very different for bollywood genre and so its doing big in india and abroad. get your facts right girls.

FYI i dont like shahrukh khan. i enjoy his movie but m not a die hard fan; yet i loved the story of how a simple family man can be “hero” he created a character based on his son’s idea that the antagonist should be more powerful than the protagonist. the movie’s tag line is clear bout the story; it says “If you join the forces of evil, you will always haunt it’s shadows” and thus comes the war between Ra one and G One ( ga one?) lol i dont remember; anywas i dont think everone here commenting rubbish ever understood the movie and wtf you mean by saying its not sci-fi?.. dude look it up!!!

      • Drishty November 11, 2011 at 11:57 pm

@ ujjwal: dude if you must know then i am a 4th year York university student doing biochemistry and molecular science. iam of nepalese nationality born and raised in Toronto. and listen douche! Journalism, flim critic are fine ARTS courses which i took in my first year and took bollywood course in my second. the “arts student” youre referring to i really wish i was one cuz you need creativity to understand art courses. now its clear to me that such losers who doesn’t understand the movie are really dumb which is why theyre having hard time understanding the movie concept. you dont have to be a science student to understand sci fi hahahha get a life people. its a damn movie you dont have to comment on peoples life just cuz someone is giving their opinion.

  12. Karan October 31, 2011 at 8:34 am

I will say just one thing to you.

You are concerned about your Rs.1000/- without even telling how much your kids, wife and mom liked this movie (or hated it). You didnt even bothered asking them. Right?

In 3 Idiots – they fooled the examiner by mixing all the answer sheets – this means 3 Idiots was promoting such things in the college? Comon, get a life. You were not watching a documentary, it was a movie.

And, the effects were only inspired. They were not copied, just inspired (unlike other hindi movies). But, I guess you won’t understand.

And who knows, you are just doing it to promote your dowgie blog. And yes, I am sorry, Bollywood (or even tollywood) has not seen anything as ridiculous than Tees Maar Khan. Even bodygaurd, and RAMA the savior was better than TMK. If you disagree, i would ask you to watch only the first hour of TMK (after all, you can’t bear the whole movie)

    Guest.

You didnt even bothered asking them.

Did not understand the comment-are you angry/frustrated (having obviously lost your grammar in some random flux blast in the movie-sorry if there is no blast, haven’t seen the movie myself..)?

And for mature audiences, please get over the BOLLYWOOD thing! Its the Hindi Film Industry-you yourself are degrading it by calling it a copy of Hollywood don’t you think? 😛 😛

    • Saumya Sharma October 31, 2011 at 1:50 pm

dude!! i guess you relate yourself to every movie it seems.. i bow down to you for your critic abilities and seriously think that you can be a top notch film critic because we dont have anyone like you.. go ahead and make money after all everyone has a right to do so in their own way (read Ra.One)
not a big fan of the movie and i also like sarcasm but i guess its how you want to perceive things.. dun be so judgmental in life with people..!! about SRK, intelligence, power, nature and personality matters, he has them all 🙂

      PS: cold review! 😉

    • Irfan October 31, 2011 at 3:38 pm

Why r u so pissed? SRK is a piece of shit and so is RA One. He wrote this letter coz he’s not excited at being fooled. It’s the end of SRK.

    • vicky October 31, 2011 at 6:11 pm

nice reply…. agree with d fact of TMK..

    • Isha November 1, 2011 at 9:51 am

Totally Agree…this guy has spent so much time writing an essay…m sure has nothing much to do in his life…unfortunately i dnt knw y i read it but it was fun to know that people just dont come out of the movie halls being happy…they want to criticize and justify the money tht they spent…Movies are entertainment dude…just enjoy!

      • Puneet November 1, 2011 at 12:20 pm

Ishaaaaa, what you read was an opinion. SRK is shit, I can say this. And you can say nothing about it. LOL. I don’t care what you think about what I think. Got it 🙂

      • viren November 1, 2011 at 6:41 pm

Movies are entertainment till the time they don’t screw your head..No other movie till date has ever done it what SRK has managed to do..i mean wtf, the ‘Super hero’ groping kareena, himself, and then arjun rampal, the child and her mom enjoying jokes on condom condom, kareena doing a chammak challo with her ugly cleveage right after her husband’s death and blah blah..We have been tortured with this cinema for ages now, but Ra one jst breached tht strong immunity as well..you have lost it SRK..big time!

  13. Usha Pisharody October 31, 2011 at 8:37 am

  15. Fizz (@MaddoMomo) October 31, 2011 at 8:40 am

I wasn’t gonna watch it anyway. Now i’m glad i did not. 😀

  16. Anuj Madan October 31, 2011 at 8:44 am

Very Well Written, But sadly you have miscalculated the time you have spent on this movie from not just being 2.5 hrs but also all the time you have spent writing this feedback.
Also the last scene is similar to Real Steal so that makes it 7 Hollywood movies, but i sincerely think that Real Steal was conceived much later than RA.One.

All views of yours are well respected but surely I would suggest if all your advises in the last are wel thought you will have many answers yourself for the success.

    • Ashok Sahoo (@futikismat) October 31, 2011 at 2:29 pm

Add more hollywood movies, sorcerer apprentice (throwing plasma balls of air), Transformer 2 (lots of small piece join together), Astro boy (theme copied)
And more footbal tricks from shaolin soccer and local train stunts from robot.

      That makes 12 films.

  17. Vishwas October 31, 2011 at 8:46 am

Roflmao! Wish 2 gift u a pack of ciggy fr such ‘Ciggy vasool writeup’. 😀 😀

  18. Abhinav (@ABHIandNOW) October 31, 2011 at 8:55 am

Seriously, i think you have been paid by Salmaan Khan to write this review. Ra.One is one of the best movies not in India but in the world.

Firstly, even though the kid looked like a girl, it was SRK’s message to teach the country that it doesn’t matter if your kid is a girl or boy, you can always make him/her look like the opposite gender. And i personally feel this move by SRK will solve our gender ratio problems.

Secondly, who cares if SRK was buried and then his ashes were submerged into a river. It just showed how true we are to our tradition, it showed Indians in a positive light all around the world. The scene tells those obnoxious foreigners that even though we shift to a different country, even though we start burying our dead ones; we will never stop submerging their ashes. We will stick to our traditions, to our roots.

Thirdly, let’s not talk about marketing. Shri Arindam Chaudhary sir are the best marketing guru in the whole universe. SRK is a close friend of his and thus, he has finally learned to look beyond just acting.

Fourthly, i seriously despise your comment about eating noodles with curd. That comment is against our culture, and in a very bad taste. When SRK was shown eating curd with noodles it denoted that no matter how strong your culture is, we(Indians) will destroy it just like we can destroy your food. It showed that India is the ultimate superpower.

Fifthly, you talked about the abuses in the movie. But i am sure what you don’t understand is that our kids in someway or the other will learn those abuses one day. What better person to teach them than Kareena Kapoor instead of their filthy classmates.

Sixthly, you insulted Arjun Rampal. But one thing i should tell you, there are thousands out there who can go through all the emotions in 1 min but is there anyone who can stay emotionless even when the whole world is full of chaos around him? Yes there is, the only MAN who can do this, and he’s Arjun Rampal.

In the end, i just want to say that it’s because of the people like you, we have seen gentlemen and honest people like Taran Adarsh being insulted.

    • srijith nambiar (@snamboy) October 31, 2011 at 10:05 am

none of your arguments make sense buddy! Take a deep breath and relax. And if it still doesn’t work, go watch Damadamm. You’ll get a lot be proud of Indian culture, tradition and all the jazz you mentioned here.

    • cv October 31, 2011 at 10:21 am

      i totally agree abhinav
ps- all u srk haters out there..u guyz just need a reason to crticise him and u try all ur best to find negative points in him but u cannot and so u criticise his movies which are real blockbusters! and not even akshay kumar or salman has those kinda movies! atleast this was better than bodyguard and tees maar khan!
and u cannot just insult any random guy associated with srk or his movies just because you want to tell the world about your brilliantly dumb mind! keep this all to yourself and stop making a fool of yourself all around!

      • Rik October 31, 2011 at 9:30 pm

      • Sushma November 1, 2011 at 1:13 pm

Looks like there are people who did not get the underlying sarcasm. Or maybe they were in a hurry to leave their reply that they just saw the first few sentences (?). Anyway, a very good effort Abhinav. Both you and the author of this blog have saved me a lottt of money! (taxi + tickets + coke + popcorn). Thanks!

      • swair November 1, 2011 at 1:37 pm

haha! seems sarcasm-detection mechanism is rare in people.

      • Drishty November 1, 2011 at 7:34 pm

It wasn’t much bout the sarcasm. it was having the time to write sucha crap bout a movie that they did not understand. let me put it this way, IF you’re gonna leave your brain at home to watch RA ONE, The chances are you’re not gonna like it. if movies like Dabaang amuses your tiny brain then save yourself time and dont want RA ONE because we do not wanna read bias comments. its a SCI FI movie. understand the concept first.

Comparable to the original Master Piece if not better.
Some of the replies to your post are just hilarious. Wish people understood Sarcasm better 🙂

    • ADARSH November 1, 2011 at 7:44 am

HOW MUCH WAS PAID TO YOU BY SRK FOR THIS COMMENT ?

    • Haresh November 1, 2011 at 7:55 am

I completely agree with Srijith. Your points/ arguments are senseless! I think you are working for some ad agency who does marketing for SRK. I am not a blogger but I enjoyed reading original post. It was quite funny and may be true (I am gonna watch this movie, I want laugh!)

      – Haresh

P.S. – I completely disagree with point 2. You are not sticking to your roots but your are changing your culture. Hindus are not meant to bury after death. Just stick to culture even in Films!!!

    • unknownuser666 November 1, 2011 at 12:33 pm

“Shri Arindam Chaudhary sir are the best marketing guru in the whole universe.”
      ROFL

    • sayerhs November 1, 2011 at 1:33 pm

seriously , salman khan paid to write this review …. my frnd u r seriously out of your mind or a strong(mindless) follower of SRK. Movie has many loop holes and as mentioned in the blog. Still there are more to point out. I agree that the graphics and effects were good at a very few plots not all. The story was pointless , Director sucks , just to show some supernatural powers (altering brain signals, changing into anyone ) which in movie have no relation with the game developed and to extend the story that doesn’t have any plot. Movie was bullshit, he could have made a better movie. For your satisfaction ,check out the reviews for the movie. About the author of this article, he explained his point of view which goes very much along the views what many people have observed.
There might be few points which he highlighted might make less sense , but as a whole , many people will agree with what he wrote.

      • Drishty November 1, 2011 at 7:40 pm

i guess m not one of the people agreeing with the blog. its full on crap most of the things he us arguing on doesnt make sense and most of it is biased. && clearly the guy did not understand the movie. its a SCI FI movie. understand the concept first. like i said, If you’re gonna leave your brain at home to go watch RA ONE, chances are you’re not gonna like it. if movies like Dabaang amuses your little brain then save yourself time and dont watch it. indians will never accept the change. i feel sorry for you guys.

    • roflol November 1, 2011 at 2:05 pm

Dude awesome…even better than original post :)… Sheldon cooper should lear sarcasm from you …..bazinga

    • Piyush November 1, 2011 at 2:33 pm

hahahhahah… just cannot stop laughing at this reply.. this guy calls the loser Arindam Chaudhary as Shri Arindam Chaudhary. hahahhaa… surely this Abhinav must be an IIPM gem.

    • Ron November 1, 2011 at 5:35 pm

I see what you did there! 😀

    • Poorva November 1, 2011 at 6:58 pm

“What better person to teach them than Kareena Kapoor instead of their filthy classmates.”
LOL! Are you seriously making fun of yourself by saying that if Kareena teaches bad words, it’s great and if it’s some other source, it’s just too bad? Dude, bad words ARE bad words! They don’t become good depending on who teaches them to you!

LOL no wonder irrational people like you support SRK / Ra.one! Cheers!

@ABHiand How…Seriously? That’s how u decide to get back at him (why’re u even trying to get back at him, Srk is related to u?)? I’m sure ur comment doesn’t make any sense EVEN TO YOU (u wrote it just for the sake of it)
And plz plz tell me this….HOW? HOW? HOW?…HOW ON EARTH ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO SUBMERGE SOMEONE’S ASHES AFTER BURYING HIM?? :-S
i mean like first u bury the body , then u dig it out, n then cremate it n then submerge the ashes?…that’s the way to go abt it right? 😛

Well..I have one thing to say..I pity the author of the blog..

He does not realize the fact that he is still a loser..Coz he spent 200 Rs on the ticket, 2.5 hrs to watch the movie, 20 hrs to write the blog, and 200 hrs to follow the blog now..Poor man..

And on the other side, SRK doesnt even give a shit to his blog..He doesnt even know this stupid blog exists…He has made millions of rupees already..He still has the zillions of fans..

Nonetheless, nice effort big dog.. 😛

  25. shelly October 31, 2011 at 9:54 am

Get well soon

  26. techrahul October 31, 2011 at 10:05 am

    1. I wonder why you have written the letter to Shah Rukh since he has neither written the script nor has he directed the film. He just acted like Aamir acted in Ghajini & Salman in Ready & Bodyguard.
    2. The whole concept of the film was that his kid thinks his dad is not “cool” & is a “coward” which forces Shah Rukh to make a video game to make his son happy. You fear kids after watching the film will call their parents coward? And regarding banging of doors; you *actually* think kids will do that? If our society practiced what was shown in our films then world would have been a different place.
    3. You did not see the good things where Shah Rukh talks about ‘Achai & Burai’ concept to his son. If kids can bang doors by getting “inspired” from the film then they can of course imbibe some good things also which you didn’t see.
    4. Rights were “officially” acquired for the song Stand by Me & guess it’s the music director & director’s call. Plus I don’t really understand how he mocked Akon!
    5. Heard the song ‘Bhare Naina’? The entire song is about Kareena & son remembering Shah Rukh. Yeap. Even the kid remembers the dad. You wanted more melo drama?
    6. Hindi is NOT our national language. It is the OFFICIAL language.
    7. Don’t know what issues you have with Arjun Rampal’s look being kept a secret.
    8. The Chinese Actor is TOM WU. NOT a new comer. Was there in Batman Begins also. You should have checked!
    9. Haven’t seen the Hollywood films you mentioned so can’t comment. But if you saw Enthiran there was a same train sequence but you never questioned Rajinikanth for copying Spiderman?
10.If you *actually* think Tees Maar Khan, Ready & Bodyguard were better then you have no right to give lessons to Aspiring “writers”.

      • Anand Nigam (@easygoingandy) October 31, 2011 at 2:24 pm

Agree with techrahul… looks like our friend Doggie looks at life half glass empty, his write up suggests that he completely missed out the good things the movie had to convey.. i think the story was beautiful – the father son relationship was sweet, the idea of the game coming to life was interesting (it may not be new) but this movie helps the mass get acquainted to an idea like that, SFX were the best for any Indian movie till date… i dont think Rajini was mocked and neither was Akon…yes i agree that G1 had powers inspired from various superheroes but dont you think that it’s kinda cool…an indian superhero jisme hai 7 ki shakiti – LOL… Also you need to see Darr and Baazigar to see the brilliance of SRK…. Full respect for that man – DelhiBoy to the King Of Bollywood… its not luck its consistency… you can fool some one once not every time….people have been thronging to cinemas to watch him every time he comes up with a new release and they have made it obvious when they didnt like his work (Remember DUPLICATE?) 100000 likes for the 10th point techrahul made and finally go lick your wound doggieboy…
        Yours truly,

True man… 🙂 …you have rightly put what we all had to say to “BIG DOG”…:) ..I have also commented, but saw ur comment later… 🙂 ..
These are the people who say that hindi movies are slow and boring, and when it moves fast and quick and skips useless scenes and melo drama, they say, it was “faster than speed of light”… huh…i wonder how can married people write such childish things…

Bwahahahhaa… TheBigDowg – I follow you & vice versa on Twitter, I think. And I know life must be hard. But this hard that you went for the movie, forcefully? You tried your level best to get out of the evil plan conspired by your mother & your wife, but failed *sniff* (Could be a next Bollywood movie storyline).
Then, instead of one tweet about a stunningly crapshit movie that you were “forced” to watch, you spent your day/night talking about it. Thinking of this Open Letter – after all, this is the ballyhoo now.
This is sad. I sincerely pity you, also respect the fact that *Family* came first, so you spent your time/money/energy on the totally worthless movie of the decade, then writing about it. You make Indians proud.
I can’t stop laughing at the misery. Get a *cough* life ! 😀
    love & peace, much 😉

PS: I don’t think you’ll get aggressive replies from real SRK fans. But 1000 more Twitter followers/ blog supporters and ATTENTION? Yeah. And SRK hate comments? Oh yes!

  35. RaTwo October 31, 2011 at 10:59 am

They showed Ra.One on an airplane….there too people walked out. Even the biggest reviewers with 4 and above star ratings have told only one thing – “Forget the poor story, Forget the average direction, Forget the loopholes in the story telling, Forgive the flaws in SRK’s acting. Give credit to SRK -the producer and Just enjoy the visual effects..it has raised the bar of Indian Cinema”… My foot… it has degraded Indian cinema in 7 categories and raised the bar in one category. Net effect is Negative only. And what SRK did before the release is not marketing …it was loose motions of an insecure mind.

    • Stavros November 1, 2011 at 5:56 pm

Reminds me of the time when Raj Kapoor commented on his then new release Satyam Shivam Sundaram – “I know the audience will be coming to the theater to check Zeenat & her ****. But when they go back they will remember the story.”
Guess what – The audience never forgot Zeenat & her ****. Story be damned. If there was one…
Hell, at time like this Gunda would rate way of the charts. At least Kanti Shah had no pretentions about what he was creating!

    • Ani November 2, 2011 at 4:35 am

      This is my experience:

I saw the film at Cinemax in Mumbai. The hall was full but 50 percent people walked out after the interval, and this has happened in other multiplexes also because i spoke to many relatives during diwali and they ended up bashing the movie for its idiotic plot. Even kids in the 3-6 age group got bored, and there are 7 kids in my family in that age group in Delhi, Bangalore and Chandigarh.

His writing skills may be good, but his analyzing skills are pathetic.. this guy can be good for writing insulting and abusing columns, but not unbiased reviews. He should write for magazines like MAYAPURI or books like that.

Well some of the readers here might have found it entertaining, but let me be honest, it was irritating!

Critisizing/ complaning & blaming is povrtey of mind, (a person can never b peaceful n can never let others be!)..were as appreciating in gratitude is richness of mind!!!

so respect all india movie to make country big..shahrukh khan is putting very much money to do big action scene and you are making fun in strong english..he is not happy..no..it is sad..

I used to be an srk fan but these kind of movies with weak story and screenplay just annoy me. He used to have such good movies early on, where his choice of scripts were REALLY good. but now with om shanti om, ra. one, rab ne bana di jodi, my name is khan, SRK isnt that loved anymore. Not to say his acting was bad, it was just that the script and screenplay was bad that doesnt get you hooked in the movie. even SRK’s other productions have been failing. In the last 6 years the only good movies he was in were Don and Chak De India. My name is Khan was good, but the script and screenplay didnt make much sense. I am really hoping that Don2 will break this strong of bad movies from SRK.

“Roma Roma…. Mere Jungli Billi. Kabh Tak Mera Peecha Karti Raho gi.”
“Sir Bahut sharrif lagta hai…. call me don!”

HIS VOICE IN DON 2 + HIS DIALOGUES ARE AWESOME!

  52. Pratik Jain October 31, 2011 at 12:55 pm

You loser.. thousands of people who earned a living just because this movie was made. In terms of VFX, the movie surely raised a bar. There are crap writers (I am insulting the word “writer”) who lack in even sentence formation and who criticise on everything which they want to.. No star gives a shit to what you write.

Get a life dude, smoke ur cigarettes and just make sure your kids don’t follow this habit of yours.

  53. VR October 31, 2011 at 12:56 pm

Well.. you were right in mentioning that Swades and Chak de were his only two great movies. Maybe Raju ban gaya Gentleman can be added to the list. But beyond that.. zilch. All hamming and hammering.

Also agree that this movie is gonna beat all records without having an iota of sense. Just look at 3 idiots. Every minute of the movie is enjoyable, and/or educative.

Kudos for this wonderful post. SRK, go rot in hell!

Okay, I get it you want to get all popular and get as many hits as possible on your blog and Twitter, bravo you did a great job! You used whatever marketing tools were available and used them to the maximum extent possible.
As I don’t have enough time on my hands right now so i’d like to keep it short. Noone forced you to watch the adverts of Ra.One you could’ve and should’ve changed the channel or switched off the tv whenever Ra.One adverts aired. you are a grown man you have free will.
You could have utilized your time to catch up on sleep during the movie, if you dread SRK’s acting so much.
Look, I am no fan of SRK, I am a neutral person, he put so much effort in the movie, some people I know loved the movie. you have made some constructive remarks which I appreciate, however there were more insults and personal attacks which aren’t very helpful to the actor if he wants to improve.
I’d give it to you, a good hilarious letter, not to be taken so seriously after all.

  62. piyukamathh October 31, 2011 at 2:49 pm

woohoo ! This just so awesome !:D
I ain’t an SRK fan and his movies are pretty much disgusting. I’ve always mentioned that all I ever appreciate in SRK are his marketing skills which are unbelievably preposterous yet bring him the required hype. So it does go well that way.
I’m glad I’ve finally found someone whose thoughts match mine..

  67. divya shekhar October 31, 2011 at 3:50 pm

    Dear Erudite Analyst,

While you have been banking heavily on SRK for gaining shoddy publicity,I must make you aware of the fact that your article reeks of prejudice. You make me wonder if a personal invitation by SRK was dropped at your house for watching the movie.Trust me I am wholeheartedly willing to believe you if you say that SRK pleaded you to come and watch the fruit of his labour and honour him with your precious words. It would indeed be misfortunate to doubt a scholar like you.

I am extending my heartfelt thanks to you for you enlighten me in the same way as Ra.One enlightened you.Your article drew my attention to the amount of effort someone can put in to malign someone as well as disparage his attempts and efforts.Till date I was under the misconception that true effort deserves to be applauded.Thank you so much Sir for opening my eyes. The lesson you taught me will prove to be my saviour in future.

Also you have introduced me to new levels of duplicity. It amazes me that an avid smoker by self assertion should talk of values imparted to kids.Sir I am awestruck by the fact that you should think so much about the effect of abuses on kids but at the same time you ignore your own spiteful attempt which will effect not only kids but also the adults.Kindly do enlighten me on the aspect Sir for I am too naive to judge on my own that which is worse “Abuse of the word or Spite of the soul.”

I once again bow in admiration for providing me with prologue to disrespect.Your malice has led you to ridicule Salman Khan,Akshay Kumar and Taran Adarsh in addition to SRK.Your skills are unparalleled Sir for you can successfully demean numerous people in one shot.

Sir,I sincerely wish I could continue raving about your expertise and erudition and bring to your kind notice the extend to which you have contributed to my education which thus far remained so incomplete.Thank you once again.

    regards

    • get a job. November 2, 2011 at 3:00 pm

I saw it the first day. Not coz i was expecting a great storyline, but the fact that SRK and the team dreamt and made it possible – I thought I would want to watch it.

All the people who are ridiculing this movie (after seeing or before seeing) – trust me guys NO ONE actually gives a black rats flying fuck to what you think. You are just dieing to get your 1 page of fame and some loser followers. the more the better. Write something different. Try to be different. Try to say the opposite of what the others are saying and vola… you are the king of the other like minded ugly, untalented, couch potatoes, arm chair critic, unhappy with their lives n wives, salivating on Kareena kapoor, wannabes, jobless, penniless and envious pimps.

You guys remind me of the NGO’s who make noise to get some attention, The MNS, the national barbar ‘ass’ociation, the BJP moral police. Pity.

Since no girl would have even spat on your acne – prone face, and im sure no one would still do it even today, while DDLJ is still running, you sit and waste your jobless, no sex, no friends life to write this. Pity.

      • Avalok December 1, 2011 at 10:12 pm

Wow, you wrote a very strong reply; it was not very prolific, though it tried to be. It tried to hate on a guy who is spot on about something that is so wrong with our country and you tried to shoot him down by calling him a sexless, jobless, acne-faced and utterly moronic person (Ironic, isn’t it? Who’s the a-hole now?) All this to defend the most inflated name in the world. You are a mean, mean person or possibly it’s just the anonymity of the internet that did this to you. Nonetheless, I suggest you take a look at your own life and figure out what makes you such an angry and I daresay irrational person. I already hate you just for your reply and I hope you get better. You should really really just go fuck yourself and your probably un-fulfilling life.
And by the way, I am sure your father beats off to Kareena Kapoor in every theater he goes to see her mediocre movies in, so stop hating on this guy for “salivating”, I don’t know why you would even use such a term. I bet you salivate during sex, you creep. God I hate you.

It is quite understandable that you were looking for ways to bash it in through the whole movie, having being “forced to watch the movie”, thanks to an “evil plan conspired by my mother & my wife”. So, please don’t feign objectivity and socio-cultural activism, when your opinion was biased way before you even stepped into the theatre.

Well written, but misguided at best.

  72. guest October 31, 2011 at 4:39 pm

Hey Shelly Pelly, Karan Joker and all idiotic Shap rukh fans – don’t like the review skip it rather than putting ur stupid inane obscene comments. No doubt bcos of idiots like u with no IQ these kind of movies are made. Never know u all might be the dance troupe in chammak challo

      • Vikrant October 31, 2011 at 7:07 pm

If you don’t like the blog…don’t comment. Ignore it. Everyone is here on a public forum to give their opinions. People watch movies coz they want to be entertained. They pay for it and hence earn the right to comment about it. Movies and actors feed on opinions. Good and bad alike. Every person has a right to an opinion. You don’t have to be an equal to somebody to comment on them. How do you know you’re any better than the blogger to comment on his opinion? You commented on his blog just like he commented on SRK’s movie. He could’ve ignored the movie just like you could’ve ignored this blog post. But both of you didn’t. What does that tell you? It’s an opinion. Take it as such and move on. Don’t get so riled up keep the personal attacks away.

    • guest November 1, 2011 at 4:48 am

poor guy……felt bad…..cry baby cry, look who’s talking about IQ…….free country they hv ri8 to commnt…..n thnk if idiots like me make movies like this thn i am very proud….atleast I tried unlike u having crab mentality. y the hell u r wasting time on watching n commentin’ on idiots movies ,go n watch movies made with full IQ’s ……..bttr lck nxt time

  75. Diablo, Van Diablo. (@VanDiablo) October 31, 2011 at 4:50 pm

F it BC! I’m yet to watch it. Torrent aaya kya?

  76. pooja October 31, 2011 at 4:52 pm

I have seen the movie. Its not that bad. Before criticizing please watch Bodyguard.. Its pathetic.. You just cant believe how can one even make such a film… no story line, absolute nonsense. Ra. One is a decent attempt to make a sci-fi movie.. Special effects are commendable.. Akon song is awesome.. Kareena is a real chhamak challo……There are things you’ll like to remember about the movie… I think the blogger has spent less time in the theater while watching the movie and more thinking about and writing about it…

  77. Rehashed Keys October 31, 2011 at 5:02 pm

Firstly, get your English right. Try good ol’ Queen’s English, for example.

Secondly, there are those who like the movie and those who dislike the movie. BigDowg does not ask why you liked the movie. He is offering his take on what he liked about the movie or did not. Why dont we preserve the decencies of debate? You have a problem with Banna’s opinion, negate his opinion. Do not make this personal.. Questioning Banna’s IQ wont get you or anyone any brownie points.

And if I know this writer, he is baiting you. And you are falling for it. And he is laughing his backside off at home over some chilled beer.

  78. SHER KHAN (@__A__D__) October 31, 2011 at 5:15 pm

came across your account on twitter a number of times but didn’t felt like following you…. but this literally forced me to do so…. its a stupefying article i must say… kudos 🙂

  80. vindatha October 31, 2011 at 5:21 pm

wow!!!! I can’t believe that you actually analysed this movie so much. I thought movies are meant to be watched for fun. Its time that people like you leave their brains behind and go watch a movie. Watch the movies for the fun of it. Or just don’t watch it. Bollywood is not losing big if someone like you is’nt watching their movies. Get a life man.

  81. Shraddha October 31, 2011 at 5:34 pm

Hahaha. Everyone entitled to their opinion. But creatively well written, enjoyed the article. nevertheless i still love SRK 🙂

  82. deviceport October 31, 2011 at 5:36 pm

LOL..look who is spking, what even have you done in your life, than reviewing on somebody, get a life man, achieve sumthing in your life first, then sracasm others..bloody fool, srk is already BAADSHAW, and what are you !!!!#@$%#@ lol never mind

  85. Karthik Tantri October 31, 2011 at 5:52 pm

I’m not a hardcore SRK fan but still I will support you partially.. We need to appreciate SRK for the efforts.. Not all can give the best movie all the time..

  86. Lakshmi Sharath October 31, 2011 at 5:53 pm

fantastic piece…loved every word of it and havent stopped laughing

  87. iHateStupidWriters October 31, 2011 at 6:02 pm

lol you should carry on smoking until you die. you have no sense of talent whatsoever. i read the first paragraph and was already bored :/

  88. sumi October 31, 2011 at 6:05 pm

just radish you telling about ON SRK acting talent. You never spoke about kal ho na ho and so many fims of SRK.he proved his talents. He is not a product of godfather as most star in this industry. He grown up on his own talent.
In case of Ra.one it’s your taste not SRK’S less talent. His love to cinema So,that create that kind of highly technical arranged movie.

    • SrkIsAnIdiot November 2, 2011 at 8:05 pm

kaaheka talent bhai…he is what he is only becoz of JOHARS n CHOPRAS……and don’t get fooled by awards that he has stashed up…..in India awards r given based on the commercial value of d film and not coz of acting talents……everyone in the film industry n outside knows these awards r given to please people…..only people like u can make a person like SRK a star…..

  89. Shekhar Tanwar October 31, 2011 at 6:32 pm

    Dear Dowgie,

I follow my gut feeling and never go to watch any SRK movie. So thank you for making me believe that my gut is always right.

And if Arindham Chaudhary can sell ” ROK SAKO TO ROK LO” starring the teen sensation of the India ” Mr. Sunny Deol” Sahab than I was sure SRK would be able to sell Ra.One.

But like you I do thank SRK, coz it is because of Ra.One i got to know about your blog and I am a regular follower now.

Loved your work. And as Mr Johnny Walker rightly said “Keep Walking” for you my friend I would say “Keep Writing.”

    Your Fellow dowgie.
    Woof woof

  90. Swapnil Acharya October 31, 2011 at 6:53 pm

    Get a life, Dude.

Ra.One was a nice film. I mean at least respect the effort and hardwork they’ve put into making this film. It’s not only the plot and premise, but lots of other departments make up a good film. Accept that.

  91. Aditya Priyadarshi October 31, 2011 at 6:56 pm

Awesome read …SRK deserves this !

  92. ah sataN! (@nut_ashes) October 31, 2011 at 7:25 pm

I have NEVER read a review as inspiring as this one. If I fail at being a writer, I know Bollywood would still accept me. Thanks, man.

  93. dheeru04 October 31, 2011 at 7:40 pm

Brilliant brilliant stuff. Hats off. Wanted to add something too. Can’t expect SRK to have an eye for details but Anubhav Sinha is a north india. Karwa chauth, as per Hindu Calendar, is always after Dussehra. But both director and actor didn’t bother to check. Made their own calendar. Karwa Chauth appears before Dussehra ! Bravo again !

  94. Khilari October 31, 2011 at 7:40 pm

I want to congratulate you for writing this piece. I can’t remember reading something this brilliant in recent past.

    SRK is a scam

  95. Don Corleone October 31, 2011 at 7:43 pm

wow these SRK fan boys are a bunch of shitheads.

  96. Prashant October 31, 2011 at 8:03 pm

You arr such a dog…. I was thinking about skipping the movie but after reading your letter to S(hit) RK I really want to see the movie keeping your review in mind and laughing till I pee in my pants… 😛

  97. Guest October 31, 2011 at 8:11 pm

Wow, do you need a life or what? Not only did you watch the movie but spent hours writing a snarky blog. I guess Ra.one has one thing going for it. I actually finished watching it unlike your blog which I stopped reading way before the halfway point. For what I saw, you were trying too hard to be funny but failing, trying too hard to make a show of your intellect and also failing. I’m not sure about the audience having a huge ego like you claimed but you sure do. Congratulations.

  98. Deepankar October 31, 2011 at 8:42 pm

i share the same sentiments as you do my friend. This whole Bollywood is bloated to dish us with Idiot Cinema as we can see the mainstream media literally proving India as a Nation of Fools.

I am so glad that my family is away from the multiplex culture, the popcorn frenzy and the nachos which taste worse than Uncle Chips.

It’s been 2001 since I planned to ban these actors out of life as in all movies you get to see the same style, dialogue delivery, expressions as the personality they have been portraying has been prevalent across all genre of movies (forgive me for saying this, as I know they all stick to a single genre) is just ONE, and I am proud I pirate their movies and see them on my LCD while having a domino’s. The list of these actors are:
    1) SRK (all hands down)
    2) Big B (the actor post KBC, not the Big B of Golden Era)
    3) Jr. Bachchan (he’s just pathetic. God knows when will he realise this)
    4) SRK
    5) Emraan Hashmi
    6) Tushar Kapoor
    7) Alshay Kumar
    8) John Abraham
    9) Shahid Kapoor ( he’ll take down the Kapoor name for sure)
    10) Bobby Deol

The actors I really look up to see:
    1) Hrithik Roshan
    2) Abhay Deol
    3) Shreyas Talpade
    4) Ajay Devgn
    5) Ranbir Kapoor ( the only Kapoor I am proud of in the recent years. Fuck the Kapoor sisters)

  99. venky October 31, 2011 at 9:24 pm

one advice to the author…just grow up…it’s just a muvie…u need nt yell on top of ur voice abt d chinese actor or ur 1k bucks…nd who d hell cares abt ur health…if ur so much intrstd in writing a fuckng review nd shooting to fame this s nt d r8 way nd u get nothng 4 dis…pls strt dng sumthng which gets u some gud name nd u shuld nt b in light 4 wrong reasons…

  100. Raj S Khot October 31, 2011 at 9:54 pm

This needs to be published in some national daily, pronto. I did not go through all the comments, there were too many so i dunno if this has been mentioned; but:
    1. Scientists in a conference hall do not act like kids trying to catch snowflakes when they are told that electromagnetic waves are around them.
    2. The G.one guy was a software, if he was one, and NOT a robot. It was utter rubbish, the scene where they show him eating motherboards and PCB’s, apart from the other scenes where he was less of a software, more of a robot.
    3. If the Ra.one fellow was so bad-ass that if the person was of no use to him he would kill him, he should be doing it with everyone on the streets.
    4. The movie happened.

  101. Neil October 31, 2011 at 10:26 pm

On behalf of those who still have some intellect left in place, I thank you for taking a stand…Of all the piles of shit out there, Ra.One seems to be the biggest,

A major embarrassment to Indian Cinema, which has seen some splendid films from directors like Anurag Kashyap, Vishal Bharadwaj and Dibakar Banerjee.

  102. Neil October 31, 2011 at 10:27 pm

And spot on about Taran Adarsh being the prostitute for movie reviews.

    • Stavros November 1, 2011 at 5:30 pm

ROTFL!!! Mr. Adarsh was a joke even back in my school days, when he use to dish out his two-bit, grovelling eulogies on new releases in those crappy Bollywood trade videos masquerading as TV shows on DD Metro

    • Stavros November 1, 2011 at 5:37 pm

  104. Telly November 1, 2011 at 12:19 am

SRK has said openly he has been inspired from al the superhero movies n not like salman and aamir going on remaking films..shame on them..

  105. Unni November 1, 2011 at 12:55 am

    Superlike 🙂

  106. Aashir Jain November 1, 2011 at 1:04 am

    Hey Buddy,
Dont get so emotional..It was just a movie…..made to entertain u…and it clearly shows u are not quite thrilled..But at least respect the hard work..Going by ur majestarial work I doubt that u wud have stayed till the end…I did…and saw the credits roll…and believe me it was much more interesting than this thesis…Amidst the frenzy of writing a kickass article abt SRK and beholding boobs, u missed(anyone wud..) Shekher’s desperate love for his child and most importantly G.One’s HART..

  107. The Hollow Baba (@hollowmaniac) November 1, 2011 at 3:05 am

    Dear Unknown Canine Stranger,

I had THE BEST time watching this EPIC-JINGOISTIC-MINDBLAAASTING BlockBuster, two nights before.

    I must say…

Being a Southie, I did not, for even a split second, get offended by how beautifully the great stammering man has indeed portrayed the South-Indian. Wah. Thinking that all South-Indian are “Madrasi” and everyone eats Biriyani-Butter Chicken-Aalo Parattha and what not, by mixing it in a curd solution to give a consistency for digestion, is utmost awesome. Apparently, he has ingeniously brought out the fact that the Most Red-Meat consuming states in our country has a population who cannot digest normal rice-based food without marinating it in curd. Not to mention the bootifull accent that appears from and disappears out of no-where. Yes, we Malayalis, Tamilians, Kannada people and Telugu people speak the SAME language and do EVERYTHING similarly. It is way different from our SRK, who is one among the Bengal-UP-Bihar-Gujju-Punjabi-Haryanvi types. Chak De Patte. Korbo Hobo. Patti Thendi.

Even though I do not go by our Tamil friends who label it as “A 2 min Rajni movie with a 2 hour SRK cameo”, I indeed know that this is NOT at all an Arjun Rampal Movie. The Condom-Condom sequence is WAY MORE awesome that the Dussehra Rampal Intro. Whattay joke. Hahahaa. ROFLMAXXXZCOPTER. Way to go, son of pearly white mom who is not naturally tan because she stayed in England.

I also extend my extreme gratitude to our dear @peanutbut who kept himself from slapping the Baadshah of Bollywood when he could as he made a decision to focus on Lady Gaga completely, when the was called on stage the other day. If it was me, I would not even have had the guts to follow my gut feeling of kneeing the greatest priced possession of Bollywood. Oh wait, Kneeing wouldn’t work. Salman Khan already did that after my VERY DEAR Baadshah was PWNed by Sallu in Karan-Arjun, ages ago, in terms of screen-presence, acting, and basic Mojo. I also hate that very built actor who just has to act in a movie and not do any extra work for anyone to know he is the star of the movie, only for that.

I’m waiting for his next venture. This time, I’m dedicating a whole room for storing goodies, so that I can pass it on to generations after me. Also, I’m buying a Gaming Console, buying FIFA 2010 for it, play with Ch3L5ea, and NOT quit, so that the game -waale players can come out, and play, and atleast give them a win, and I can enjoy the peace of mind I give to the fans. Whattay!

My humble comment may offend so many Baadshah Haters and even you, but I stand by him, and will watch everything. THIS IS WAR. AARRRGGGHHH.

    Yours Truly,
    Not-So Dear Unknown Commentator.

  108. Harihar Krishnan Iyer November 1, 2011 at 3:06 am

Good review dear. SRK is stupid how can people resist him for 3 hrs. Instead i would prefer watching Salman he is a much better actor.

  109. ARJUNLAL November 1, 2011 at 3:13 am

    hahaha.. the best ‘review’

  110. bhavingr8 November 1, 2011 at 4:21 am

Hahaha… Banna! Take a bow! I didn’t have guts to write this post even though our thoughts match perfectly! Jai Ho! I still can’t stop laughing! ROFL!

  111. peculiarblend November 1, 2011 at 4:30 am

Ayyyyeeee you just nailed it beeyatch emmmmhmmm!
Dwayne Brava man 😉 Disco disco good good!

This shall trend on twitter now and this letter was less depressing than that (South Indian ) girl’s letter to her Punjabi Delhiite boy friend. Which seemed very fictional or more like a fixed cricket match of Sharjah. Whatever man.

    Well done!
    Sabaash!

  112. RIP_open-letters November 1, 2011 at 4:30 am

Long haired girl who acted as SRK’s son…? Hmm, I would rather have my kids learn cuss words (i learned them anyway no matter how protective mommy was) and be happy than to subject them to stupid stereotypes. Have not watched the movie; have no intentions to watch it. You had a choice too (stop hiding behind your mom and wife as being the “reasons” for you to watch to watch it).

And the next time you want to write letters, complete the formality with a sealed envelope, a postage stamp, and the address of the dude you intend to mail it too. That is if you really care more than just having your 15 seconds of fame at lambasting someone over something that you absolutely had a shot at avoiding (unless, you blame SRK and Ra.one team for “brainwashing your folks” into buying tickets as well)..

  113. partypest November 1, 2011 at 5:33 am

the best ever response ,,,well done pal

  114. Jinia Roy (@itsjinia) November 1, 2011 at 5:48 am

whenever an open letter appeared on web, they somehow managed to fetch somewhat attention and popularity (in both famous and infamous manner) no matter how clichéd they are. though first of all it’s from no corner a cinematic review, everyone could understand your sentiment of not being an SRK fan and then being ‘forced’ to bear the torture of watching a movie of sheer exaggeration of garishness of what would our very own Bollywood become withing a few coming years (according to SRK himself) and then came this kitsch write-up. Man, you seriously sound gravely frustrated (firstly wasting the ticket-money, then couple of hours watching the movie, then writing up a hackneyed letter and finally on basking on the new-found mass-popularity) 🙂 But one thing for sure SRK again proved his charismatic aura all over the nation; at least your piece has drawn some more add-on audience! SRK would of course be proud of having such a loyal-hater! 😉
N.B. I am certainly not an SRK devotee; so replying to your letter on apparently a blackballing manner was nothing to do with going in favour of Ra.One, as I too believe that now SRK has nothing more to give!

  115. Bad Wulf November 1, 2011 at 5:54 am

One of the best reviews of Ra.One and exactly on the lines of my own sentiments.

    BTW.. Don2 was the best part of Ra.One :))) I agree…

  116. Defiant Princess November 1, 2011 at 6:08 am

Honestly : i didn’t find this humorous at all. No, not because I don’t have the funny bone in me but because you OVER ANALYZE and critise just a movie!

  117. Tejaswini Naik November 1, 2011 at 6:56 am

Awesomeness, taken to a new level! Finally, finally someone did it.
    Thank you Sir.

    🙂

  118. arnab November 1, 2011 at 7:38 am

well done bro, u have done a gud work by giving us the light about THE EPIC MOVIE ‘RA.ONE’.
I want to thnk you for telling us wat and ra.one is all about. But i think u consider ur self becoming an movie critic, dat will give u more fame, u alone should replace dose fools sitting in the place of u and became critics for THE EPIC MOVIE “RA.ONE” coz they dont have the credibility to be in that place.
before thanking you once again, i want to say few things to you.
i dnt even give a shit who so ever u r…
but u should atleast give respect to the person who atleast give u the opportunity to become THE CRITIC.
u should give a little respect who represent the india and indian cinemas in the entire world, u should see the statistics dat tells that SRK has most fans in the world other den any other actor in bollywood, and off course less then Sri A.bachan.
and the statistic says that THE EPIC MOVIE has earn more then 100 croros till now… and many more to come……. dis shows that dispite of being watever and watever dialogs in the movie…. THE EPIC MOVIE has become already a hit….. u should consider ur self fortunate dat a indian movie has finally came upto the hollywood mark…..
and finally u must become that great to comment on a person as great as him.

  119. Ruchi November 1, 2011 at 7:45 am

Chak De was good, but then i watched the original, Miracle, Kurt Russel totally KOes him.

  120. Jinesh November 1, 2011 at 8:20 am

    Kudos to the Writer…

  121. Anu November 1, 2011 at 8:28 am

Get a life man!! everyone has their own opinion…urs is so sarcastic…learn to respect. films are made to entertain u. u dnt hav to do a Phd on them. this is foolish. SRK is our national pride. say watever…he is the best.

  122. Angi November 1, 2011 at 8:29 am

If nothing else, atleast thank SRK for giving you inspiration to write yet another ‘Open Letter’ and have the distinction of being tweeted and retweeted around the Indian blogsphere. So, that’s another one, who’s used SRK to get his 15 mins of fame.

  123. Sandeep November 1, 2011 at 8:37 am

It is amazing how no other movie was shown other than this shit during Diwali. That’s the power of the DON

  124. Rohan November 1, 2011 at 8:37 am

Dude… whoever ur… M wondering wat must b ur frustration level after watching Ra.One, but its Justified 😀
Btw this kind of movie is & will be for his die-hard fans!!! The movie was all about himself & more brand associations lol…
All sympathy towards u… Hope ur out of the hangover after watching it 😉 😀

  125. TheOfficialSRK November 1, 2011 at 8:38 am

    Dear thebigdowg,

I cannot but help at laugh at your letter. I have to thank you for indirectly marketing me as well. You have a good life ahead, if you continue writing such stuff. Maybe, I will sign you as a scriptwriter for my future movie as well. You never know.

    Love,
    SRK. 😉

    • dipsikha biswas (@itsmedipsikha) November 1, 2011 at 10:06 am

Sir, I am definite that you face such crap often because people are so keen of getting a quick shot at fame, even if it is the ugly way. But I would just like to say you- Don’t let small minds make you think that your dreams are too big! We get the inspiration to dream and to follow it because of you. Love you, always!May God bless you as He always does. 🙂

  126. marshalbajaj November 1, 2011 at 8:40 am

i havent have watched the movie yet, but i liked the way you have written..

    awesome.. !!

    -Best Wishes..

    p.s – i am a MBA student 🙂

    • Drishty November 1, 2011 at 7:57 pm

MBA student would not have agreed to the biased statement above. This guy who ever wrote sucha long ass crap, is those who gets amused by watching movies such as Bodyguard, Dabaang etc, cuz thats all their tiny brain can take. to watch RA ONE you need to have imagination. like i said, If you’re gonna leave your brain at home to go watch RA ONE, chances are youre not gonna like it. its a SCI FI movie, understand the concept before you drain your brain out being critical bout the stupidest things in the movie. i pity indians for not understanding the change this cinema has to offer.

      • anshu November 2, 2011 at 7:18 am

Yeah like you would have a great idea about what an MBA student would/ wouldn’t do! Cut the guy some slack, who has managed to come up with a decent bit of sarcasm.

And yeah, you! People have imagination, unlike you, agreed that Dabangg and Bodyguard were abysmal, only fools won’t admit to the fact that RA ONE is ridiculous at best.

Please, i would be really happy to keep my brain home, along with all my senses, away from RA ONE as much as possible.

PS: Even bodyguard, dabangg were abysmal

  127. guest November 1, 2011 at 9:11 am

” Ra.One is the most discussed, most written about, Most Trended, Highest collection (170 Cr) If it’s not the most impactful film of the year, which One is? ” haha u hv 2 agree……end of shit reviews……….

  128. pat November 1, 2011 at 9:22 am

Too long to read, dude. good sarcastic humor as far as I read. No doubt movie was not good, but it was not bad that it required you to write long open letter. Respect your time, i am sure u have many other imp things to do.I am damm sure u don have balls to invest 150 crores for a project even if u had it. So dont overlook good qualities. Also I can assure you would not have written this piece of shit for “tell me o khuda” if u watched it. Dont try to be famous by targeting famous. FO

  129. Sumit K. Agrawal November 1, 2011 at 9:48 am

It’s good to know that even “DOWG’s” have become criticcs in India.
I found it entertaining to watch the movie rather than reading your entire wow-wow.(read : barking! thats wat the dogs usually do).
U must hv spent more than 5 hours to write the above bull-shit.
Or hv you copy pasted from sum1.
U know the most interesting part of the movie was the”south-indian” accent of the DON. He does not need to speak the “language” at all. The scenes in movie r interesting enough and there was no need to add this funny aspect to the movie.
Actually dude i am running out of time , so u will get the rest of my views very shortly. Till then “grow up” and dont watch any rajni movie in the meantime.” Ha Ha Ha

Are you seriously so out of job that you wrote down this long essay ?(which I fell asleep while reading but had to read it till the end for safeguarding the integrity of the man in question. )Get a life! Who are you to abuse and talk crap about the biggest Star India has even produced?Have you ever tried making a mark in the society by doing anything close to worthy as much as SRK has done in his life? When you question someone try and put your life under the scanner as well! If you didnt like the movie, its your personal opinion but that doesnt give you any right to question him! Shame on people like you who tries to undermine such a brilliant effort on somebody’s part to bring about a revolution in the industry,to change the thought process. This man had a dream and he is courageous enough to follow it.Ra.One has put India on a very high global platform,it has showcased what India can do,and that is not just being dominated and dependant on the West.
ShahRukh Khan is an enigma- not just because he is the biggest movie star, but because of the person he is.His strong family values, his love for the country, his ethics everything is an inspiration in itself.
Do yourself a favour- spend a little more and pick up “Still Reading Khan”.Leaf through the pages, hopefully that might instill in you some respect and manners.

P.S. Its a cheap “publicity stunt”!

    • venkat November 1, 2011 at 3:48 pm

If Dowg can’t question SRK, then you can’t question Dowg. Period. Free country and all!

This movie had animation/stunts/locations/music/ideas etc sourced from WEST..so what’s your point about domination/dependency on WEST ?? Heck u’ve even commented in ENGLISH which is from WEST( incase you thought it is from WEST bengal).

BTW do you know the meaning of enigma dear ?

      • Drishty November 1, 2011 at 8:04 pm

are indians really dumb to understand the concept of SCI FI? where did west/ hollywood craps came from?. dude understand the concept first, then accept the change. RA ONE brought bollywood to whole next level..and all you douches are complaining is its a copy from WEST (not west bengal for sure)? so what? do you not have imagination to understand the movie? i guess youre among those who gets amused by watching movies sucha as Dabaang, bodyguard etc cuz thats all their tiny brains can take. like i said, if youre gonna leave your brain at home to go watch RA ONE, chances are you’re not gonna like it.

P.S your argument makes no sense at all.

After reading http://bit.ly/skeWdw, http://bit.ly/su0qcX and now BigDowg’s post, I can safely say, THANK YOU all for helping me make the right decision…of NOT seeing the movie. 😉

  132. Pinaki Acharya (@mojokajojo) November 1, 2011 at 10:14 am

Very true indeed. Story, content, acting all can be over powered by heavy promotions. #Note2aspiringDirectors/producers

  133. Dips November 1, 2011 at 10:15 am

Awesomely written… amazing!! You are just too fantastic with words. Bollywood is just full of these kinds of shit. I hardly remember any good movie beng made recently. On one hand we have Akshay Kumar movies full with bullshit comedy & other hand we have actors doing overacting. Then there are some beautiful actors who just can’t act (you will see same acting, same facial response) but whenever they come out with a movie, people go crazy about it. It’s highly pathetic state. What a joke this bollywood is & most actors are jokers barring few (we know them). Don’t bother about SRK hooligans. They don;t understand what movie / cinema is, what is called storyline & what the hell is acting..

    • Srk hooligan.. November 1, 2011 at 11:29 am

      yippie…..dats what i call confidence…….
Come out in the open n show the SRK hooligans what story ,cinema and acting is all about.
looking forward to seeing a movie vry soon which hilights your name in all the categories as the end credits roll.

      SRK Hooligan

    • Drishty November 1, 2011 at 8:12 pm

Clearly youre one of those who don’t understand what movie/cinema is,what is called storyline & what the hell is acting. everything that you yourself mentioned above.. bro RA ONE Is a SCI FI movie, understand the concept then accept the change. this movie has brought bollywood to the next level, you guys should be proud of it, instead being biased bout a movie just cuz you dont understand the concept. you fools:P.. like i said, if you’re gonna leave your brains at home to watch RA ONE, Chances are you’re not gonna like it. i guess, you are among those who were amused by movies like Dabaang, bodyguard cuz thats all their tiny brain can process.

  134. PJain November 1, 2011 at 10:46 am

Although a lot of people here have already told truly how stupid this article is. I would just add, that there is inly one thing correct in your article and that is the fourth point of your notes given in the end. you do have a diminished intellect bro… Grow up… A really childish article, which I actually thought was written by a low IQ idiotic kid, however I only realized i was wrong when you said you went to watch the moivie with your wife… Be your age, man…

And i intentionally give the link to my blog here… seriously not for any advertisement (i already get a lot of compliments and criticism), but only to tell you what intellectual humour means…

  135. Palak November 1, 2011 at 11:09 am

I love it Man .. What ever you have posted here .. !!
I think i would like to add two things here

    1. No Tamilian Pronouce “Keys” as “KISS”.
    2. And No Tamilian eats noodles with Curd .. !!!!

  136. Sayalee November 1, 2011 at 11:28 am

Thanks for a completely biased review..! It was quite funny !

Well yes ,you have complete right to hate a movie or a star or an actor !

But dude… While you are searching for a logic in the story… Let me tell you its a fiction…You know what it means right ? 🙂 This way you should be questioning the story of all fictional movies…

Secondly when a movie is made there is a creative space in it for each actor…Your definitions of good cinema ( if at all they are ! 😛 ) can not define how a movie is made…! or how one should treat a character … ! And for the very reason despite such religious haters like you … Movie is averagely appreciated.

I do not mean in any aspect the movie is so far the best except for effects..( Thank god you had that little heart and brain to appreciate the effects atleast ).It is for sure another hindi masala film with best effects !

As far as usage of Hindi is concerned I am sure you are in senses that we are talking about bollywood , indian cinema etc … 😛 So do you expect actor / actress to speak in Korean if the audience was korean… Dude seriously google a term called “Creative Liberty ” ,May be you get the point 😛

I have a suggestion for you…Try and watch the fiction movies …Then you might gain the amount of childish statements that you have written above! Its just this anti-SRK thing inside you …and nothing else. Please watch Robot and all stupid logical questions that you have asked will be applicable there too ! But no matter what your questions are Robot was another fiction based masala film with supreme effects and the Rajni magic ! Deny that with your logic but the facts wont change 😛

By the way , Let me tell you ,a movie is about a team… so next time you write a review please make sure you target right people for mistakes in film making 😀 There are directors , creatives directors ,script writers , ADs , Co-actors , cinematographers and soon… 😀

Well I am not a SRK fan as such… ! But this article seemed so childish and biased that I felt like telling you a few facts…

And it will be really interesting to read a few responses to this childish anti-SRK outrage 😛

    • Danny November 1, 2011 at 2:08 pm

well written….ppl have this anti-srk thing in them….u cant deny the charisma that he brought to the screen…ya script sucked…as did the direction….i dont see anyone berating anubhav sinha….

  138. Aarti November 1, 2011 at 12:09 pm

Dude, great post. The irony of power is that even when it fails, it creates news. Your post made me spend 20 minutes reading about a person I despise and almost made me buy tickets to the movie online to see how bad it really was.

  139. theSuda November 1, 2011 at 12:17 pm

I don’t understand why people are advising you to ‘Get a life’. But I guess I would never know 😉 . Anyway, kudos to the effort of writing this post. I have heard some people say that ‘Kabhi Alvida na Kehna’ is the best movie they have ever seen in their life. And now I saw someone say that Ra.One is best movie in not only India but all over world. I guess people like Robert Zemeckis, Ridley Scott, Christopher Nolan and James Cameron should hang themselves now. I bet half of Ra.One supporters and critics of the critic don’t even know the name of director of Ra.One. I am going to watch this movie (yes, sigh). Lets see.

    • Khushroo November 1, 2011 at 3:11 pm

Do post something after watching the movie. At least we’ll come to know you’re alive. 😉

      • theSuda November 2, 2011 at 6:03 am

I have died so many times.. I watched movies like Kisna, Lucky, Rudraksh, Naksha, Najar etc in theater.. only for 20 bucks in my college days. But I still shiver by thought of it.. I am hoping this wont be that bad. 😀

  140. Telly November 1, 2011 at 12:20 pm

Thank you for putting into words what many people have been feeling.I have not seen the movie as I followed my heart.Wish at least this reaches SRK so that he thinks twice before he starts his making his next weapon of mass destruction.I truly wish you had written this after “My name is Khan”.May be RA ONE could have been averted.Thank you once again.

  150. krum November 1, 2011 at 3:53 pm

if u hated d movie to dis length..u wouldn’t hv burned ur ass for righting dis long fucking essay…atleast srk doesn’t ask fr a towel wherever he goes and puts it b/w his legs nd do d same fucking step time again and again..guys watever b d shit bout d movie..atleast it must b appreciated fr d team of vfx who tried to match wid hollywood production(not 100% bt to a extent) nd packaging d cost in 150 crores where cameron takes 1100 crores to make avatar..i m nt fan of srk or some other actor…bt if u feel dat srk is shit…just go sell a soap on street or atleast get ur own value for money in markets..it must b less dan d soap.

Sequel to thhis movie should be Jha-Too

  154. Stavros November 1, 2011 at 5:16 pm

By the way folks, SRK was so overwhelmed by the *positive* response for RaOne on this blog, he is going to announce the exciting, supremely awesome sequel to it on thebigdowg blog. Oh hell, he actually designated me to announce the same out here. Alrite, music, lights & action!!!
    & Here it goes…
The name of the sequel in all awesomeness is –
    JHA-Two

  155. Drishty November 1, 2011 at 5:46 pm

Hmm I don’t know where to start but the guy whoever wrote that 20 pages of craps, which has no conclusion and god knows what his argument was, clearly didn’t understand the movie. The movie as per he said is not a copy of Hollywood at all it was pure Bollywood drama with family values just more technologically enhancement in the story because it was based on a ps3 game. I think Arjun Rampal, SRK and esp the BOY who plays his son did an amazing job. And the story, screenplay and direction was at it’s best. If you understand the movie you will definitely agree that it’s an epic Bollywood movie. If you can’t understand the movie just cut the crap and watch bolly movies like dabaang, ddlj which is based on pure good-for nothing masala entertainment which are very very easy to understand. I MEAN, IF YOU LEAVE YOUR BRAIN AT HOME TO WATCH RA ONE THEN YOU WILL NOT UNDERSTAND IT.

  156. Sajal November 1, 2011 at 6:29 pm

boss…this is too good….I have been such a huge believer in the concept of cinema education (and TV) at an early age…the most intelligent of people have such incredibly idiotic tastes when it comes to films…almost all the blockbusters in the past 5 ears in Hindi cinema have been rank bad films…it is an absolute disgrace…
every school will have a couple of people who can individually easily write a better film than this..and this is the kind of shit we produce in our country…and then the world laughs at “bollywood”

  157. karanjoshi03 November 1, 2011 at 6:30 pm

awesome! Dude hats off 🙂 I would even say I LOVE YOU for this post 😛

  158. TRx November 1, 2011 at 6:42 pm

The author is just another wannabe writer trying to catch people’s eye by going along with the latest trend, initiated by people who think of themselves of elites, of dissing Shahrukh Khan.
It’s becoming the latest fashion these days: if want to seem cool and elite, say bad things about the most popular guy.
The author lacks and genuineness, is probably another of those passionate air headed wannabe dudes who think they’re too cool for anything that’s popular.
It is surprising that such ridiculous rambling can come from a married man!

    • Stavros November 2, 2011 at 11:07 am

Whoa! So only single men are capable of such ridiculous ramblings eh???
Maybe after they get married, men undergo some sort of hormonal changes, yes?

      • TRx November 2, 2011 at 2:07 pm

The guy is married, which means he must be probably 25 or older. What I meant is, you’d be surprised by the immaturity of a guy that age. And Stavros, you seem to have some sort of an attention deficit disorder. You missed the whole point of my comment and are clinging only to the last line. Find a better line of argument. 🙂

  159. Shaurya November 1, 2011 at 6:44 pm

All I really want to ask you Drishty is – “How old are you” Because I have heard from a lot of 8-14 yr old and adolescents with pocket money who have really found the deeper meaning of their existence through the movie…I congratulate you if you have found yours too.

(This is not meant to be sarcasm or criticism, if you need brains or intellect for entertainment then somebody clearly missed the point… if that was your point)

    • Art-Vandelay November 3, 2011 at 5:06 pm

Drishty: “The movie as per he said is not a copy of Hollywood at all it was pure Bollywood drama with family values”.
Judging by this, you must be in your early teens. Its a proven fact that the whole concept of Ra-one ranging from his appearance, to his powers and the emotional drama surrounding him, has been based on various hollywood films of the Sci-Fi genre. How can you dispute that? Anyone who’s sensible enough and sees beyond the gimmicks of this actor, can very easily say what a joke the film is.
He’s not made a film, he’s tried to do business. Yeah, that’s what SRK is all about, doing business. Usually the hindi films do not fare too well down south due to fierce competition from the favourite local stars, so he makes the lead hero south-indian. And the throws in Rajni for a cameo role. Quite frankly the punjabbi accent of Kareena was so careless of the film makers.
To all the ‘Romance’ and ‘glamour’ loving fans of SRK, who are so loyally defending their film, go see this Pakistani movie “Bol” , that wouldn’t have cost over 5 crores, yet leaves a long lasting impact on the audience. They explain the problems that are socially relevant in OUR country more than theirs-population. THAT’s film making. Not tossing 170 crores to get good stars, good locations, a good item number, and effects, but a hollow nucleus with collage of stolen story lines and concepts, under the pretext of “Pushing bollywood to new levels”.

      • Arjun Kalyan November 4, 2011 at 8:01 pm

people dont watch movies for some preaching or to talk abt issues.. they go for solid entertainment – with masala, songs, comedy and thrills! And am talking abt the majority of the audience (aam janta), not some online bloggers! If you want to watch a serious film, why in the world did u watch RA.One? Right from the beginnging, it was promoted as a core Bollywood meeting Superhero genre film.. either your expectations were wrong or you have different opinions on Bollywood. Big budget movies were made like this, so it appeals to all classes – not just for the multiplex audience. And hence the masala. The sooner you understand the logistics of Bollywood, the greater u realize why they make a movie certain way. 3 Idiots is just an exception. All the other 100 crore grossers are pure masala and irrelevant movies. Unless you make a movie by yourself and sell it, u wont be able to understand all this. Hence we all stay as just another online blogger/commenter.

  160. shashikantsingh November 1, 2011 at 7:03 pm

Blame Anubhav Sinha, not SRK. He has done his part in the movie. You are a kid, grow up man! Haha. 🙂

  161. Drishty November 1, 2011 at 7:08 pm

You need IMAGINATIONS to understand such movies. Its CALLED SCI FI movie. look it up what that means before you start mouthing craps. i am from Toronto and i am not INDIAN but reading the comments here bout one lousy guy with his LOUSY NO SENSE CRAPS that he wrote and everyone agreeing to it makes me realize INDIANS ARE NOT READY FOR SUCHA CHANGE NOT READY FOR SCI FI THRILLERS AT ALL.. i feel sorry for you guys… go watch daabang hahah you prolly enjoyed it ey! laughed your ass off cuz thats all your brain can take and THIS IS VERY SAD. i FEEL BAD FOR YOU ALL HATERS.

    • vDogg November 1, 2011 at 9:04 pm

Indians would never be ready for such a shitty movie. No sense of direction, the south indian srk made it unbearable. Sci-fi movie just does not mean good effects, if the storyline is bullshit then no tricks can save the movie.

    • Ashok Sahoo (@futikismat) November 2, 2011 at 1:08 am

dude if you have brains you will find this ( http://www.thevigilidiot.com/2011/10/28/ra-one/ ) comic strip funny, or you are just retarded.

    • Dees November 2, 2011 at 8:23 am

I have spent a good time of my life watching and appreciating Sci-Fis, I found RA-one a load of crap.. a SCI-Fi is not just about the animation, its about a concept and originality in plot too ( a plot that makes sense) You feel bad for the haters??? i feel bad for you and all who like SRKs nonsense cinema! Go watch Terminator 1,2 , Iron Man, Spiderman and Tron, and then watch RA-ONE .. He had the money to spend, but originality needs creatitvity!

  162. sachy November 1, 2011 at 8:02 pm

Super duper Jealous guy. God bless his poor soul.

  163. vDogg November 1, 2011 at 8:28 pm

Hahaha!!! Good one. Movie was a waste of time.

  164. daydreamersdiary November 1, 2011 at 9:16 pm

I haven’t seen the movie yet but your side of story is really making me to watch this at least once. All reviews/critics aside, finally the movie was profitable which made the “product” a success. Its a bit complex to understand psyche of Indian audience where movies like ZNMD and RaOne – both targeting to different kind of intellectuals, became popular. I am sure it would be a good case study for our business school friends.

You should start writing business cases as well of such movies. I will be your first subscriber 🙂

  165. Pushpa Koneri November 2, 2011 at 4:17 am

Very Mean you are !!! Kyoon bacche ki jaan le rahe ho! “One who dares to Dream, lives to see it ” !!! Atleast its better than the Jaadu character by Roshans 🙂 Peaceful advice to you – please watch DDLJ & Chak De India again :)!

  166. Saanira November 2, 2011 at 4:23 am

Awesome work. I was never gonna watch it in theatres. Now I dont have to bother about downloading torrents too. Thanks much!

  167. anything November 2, 2011 at 4:55 am

I am not an SRK fan either but this open letter of yours is simply disgusting and so not cool! If you have written this only for publicity and to get any reply from SRK himself, then its a good try! otherwise you really need to invest your energy into something better and not on showing the world what a jobless frustrated and narrow-minded person u are!

  168. Ayan Majumdar November 2, 2011 at 5:11 am

Slap-stick, dry and high quality humour!!! You should start writing blogs for The Telegraph UK or The Guardian UK…I have not seen the movie, and I am sure you are not paid (as Taran Adarsh) for critic-‘ing’ a movie, but you have indeed written one of the finest reviews I have ever read….

  169. milan November 2, 2011 at 5:31 am

I am also agree with this letter

  170. Dees November 2, 2011 at 5:34 am

Awesome!!! Perfect description to this SHIT of a movie.. I hate SRK for his blatant Fakeness… Everything that comes out of his mouth is FAKE.. Hes a rotten actor who has hammed and overacted his way to success just because the masses in India like that kind of bullshit.. SRK wants everything, but unfortunately for him, Slik, classy cinema is not his cup of tea! he can go back to his masala om shanti om nonsense..

  171. sandz November 2, 2011 at 6:10 am

    Dudeeee…GET A LIFE.
If peope feeds u crap, and u eat it….any guess who is the dumb one here ???
People like u pay SRK, and then whine like a cry baby……
U spend money, and even spend a whole lotta time writing a looooonnnng essay as a tribute to his movie. I mean seriously ??? u hav so much time and money to waste then why complain ??
SRK made this muvi to earn money, u gave him your share….his job is done. Shows who has got the brains and balls….hahahahhahahh

  172. SG November 2, 2011 at 6:26 am

Actually only one issue in the whole article:
“Also, it was incredibly brilliant of you to show that different religions can co-exist. Just two scenes & all the bitterness go away; Kareena was shown sprinkling the ‘ash’ after they have buried your dead body. Marvelous, I tell you!”
In US and UK in the creamtory you got to have the body in a casket which is then burned in the electric/wood fire in a closed chamber… So whatever was shown was the correct representation of things that happen in the country where Shekhar was shown living in…. The ashes are then handed over to the family of deceased…

  173. vineet kasture November 2, 2011 at 6:28 am

instead of using your intelligence to find flaws in others, why dont use your intelligence 2 correct your own flaws? wudnt that be ‘more’ great thing to do in life?

Critisizing/ complaning & blaming is povrtey of mind, (a person can never b peaceful n can never let others be!)..were as appreciating in gratitude is richness of mind!!!

there are 2 types of people in world :-
    1) who makes 150 cr movie
    2) who writes such articles…
try 2 be in 1st group…its more difficult & surely has very less competition there!!!

    • Dees November 2, 2011 at 6:53 am

you dont get the point! people having 150Cr can spend 150 Cr, but to what effect??? SRK had a “dream” to make this Sci-fi, and then had the money to make it, WHAT was stopping him from coming up with an original and intelligent plot?? instead of conviniently pulling out bits and pieces of ideas from famous superhero movies

  174. sanoj gafoor November 2, 2011 at 7:01 am

I dont understand these critics… Movies are made so that people can leave behind their problems from life’s journey and enjoy for a while. SRK’s / Salman are doing just that make their movies for the sole purpose of entertainment. Id rather watch Body guard / Ra One & go home happy or see critcally acclaimed movies like Black / page 3 and go home depressed.

Please carry on your work SRK & Salman we Love you ………….

  175. no-spam November 2, 2011 at 7:41 am

I think You lost your mind boy, nothing else you are very much jealous of SRK………………
A Great suggestion for you….Go and watch the Foolish movies Like Tees Maar Khaan,Body guard Or Any Other Movies Of Chunky Pandey…Then you might gain the amount of childish statements that you have written above!
Don’t make fun of Yourself, and just appreciate the work done By Ra-One Crew, Awsome work Done By them,
The Film sets A very High Standard For Bollywood…………
    SRK Rocks……

    • Stavros November 2, 2011 at 11:16 am

Nice one, now please tell me which other movie/s in Bollywood is going to better the “very high standards” of Ra One?
Oh by the way, I insist you appreciate the work done by Kanti Shah on the legendary badass, supremely awesome Bollywood movie – Gunda. Now that film set a totally new standard for Bollywood
      Mithunda Rocks….

  177. Teju November 2, 2011 at 9:09 am

    Very True……

  178. Ads November 2, 2011 at 10:13 am

Do you really sit down and critically analyze all films??or is it just a special treatment for SRK….coz if it is the latter than Dowg you really need to go ahead and get a life!
Probably if this movie was so crass according to you, you should have forgotten and not taken the pain to remember it once again, by writing all this down…anyways everyone’s perspective to dream are different. Why don’t you pen down yours and see how you would be rated!
Also i really think you need to check your assumptions given for the various groups you have sighted….

  179. SRKforever November 2, 2011 at 10:14 am

    get a life mad dowg……..SRK rocks…..jealous people get lost…who cares…SRK is the best….

  180. deepu November 2, 2011 at 10:15 am

Very well said!!! It has earned money by brand adverts and mechandising because as you said SRK is the best in Marketing otherwise the movie is a big CRAP.

  181. Fatka November 2, 2011 at 10:20 am

I pity you mate and your self proclaimed sensibleness and I wonder king khan’s ability to influence common man to such an extent.. This is typical Indianism you’re showing because Robot too showed combination of at least 6 hollywood blockbusters but that time pple like you were writing good stories/doing shitty things to get the media limelight and now you are doing the same thing by going anti-SRK way. Your letter above is typical example conveying all of us are behind fame & showbiz. Ra.One is definitely path breaking, special effects are spectacular even better than Robot, Music & background score are of international standard, story/idea of a villain from a game entering real life is fantastic [I’m sure nerds like you would have taken such idea on head if it would hv come from hollywood] and I agree screenplay is weak/bad, SRK could have stopped his typical gimmics but if ppl can dance on the tunes of chitti, G.ONE is better.. Ra.One is path breaking and it would have not earned Rs.170cr in opening weekend by saying I was forced to go.. If you were so confident about movie being crap, stay home AH..

    • Stavros November 2, 2011 at 11:20 am

Two-Cool (Registered trademark for a new movie not done by SRK) !!!! Another healthy shot of sweet Sarcasm to spread around… 😉

    • foodsbay November 2, 2011 at 1:33 pm

Well Said Fatka, These assholes only watch movies to critisize SRK.. SRK you rock… you are the best of all arsehole khans…. Bravo SRK! Long live SRK!!!

  182. peaceout November 2, 2011 at 11:53 am

dude, stop it. its getting irritating!!

  183. PRABHAT SINGH November 2, 2011 at 12:52 pm

Well, all I can say is, “You hit the nail bang on the head”….nobody can summarize the crap made by SRK better than this….Respect dude!! 🙂

  184. Srijith Gopalakrishn (@srijithg) November 2, 2011 at 1:00 pm

Thebigdowg, you made my day! Aha whatey relief .. After watching Ra One I was feeling constipated, your post has brought great relief TO THE PAIN IN MY ASS!!!
    Great work,
And did SRK approach you for advertising his film Ra One on your page ? Its obvious, since your post has more “happy & satisfied viewers” than Ra. One, Arindham Chaudhary the PLAN MAN would have advised SRK to approach you.

Keep the gr8 work going ..

Thanking you once again for having relived the pain in my ass,

  185. Writerzblock November 2, 2011 at 1:02 pm

Ha ha ha, haven’t laughed this much in ages!!!!! We need more Ra Ones, atleast for reviews like this!

    • Sweeney November 2, 2011 at 5:52 pm

LOL. Pls dont feed the SRKs (a la monkeys). Bollywood will have its share of disasters for such reviews – we still don’t want a RaTwo and GString.

  186. SanaVd November 2, 2011 at 1:30 pm

I had no idea the movie would be this “good”. Thank you for writing this. I was dying to see how “good” it would be. But now I should die before doing anything like that!

  187. Abhishek November 2, 2011 at 1:39 pm

    Hi,
its indeed a very well written post, and the huge number of responses tells all. Injecting the sense of humor in an article is indeed a tough thing to do, and u have pulled it off with elan.
I would like to tell u that i have worked as a professional movie critic for almost a year…and i too agree with ur 3 movie choices, and Swades is one of my most fav indian movies. Unfortunately, i have nevr seen him talking a single word abt swades in any of his interviews. It proves that his is the ‘naked king’. But u forgot Dil Se…however, i wud like to call it a Ratnam movie than his.
Coming to the main point…there are atleast 2 places in ur post, where i beg to differ from u.
    1. U hav accepted that its a product than a movie, so u shouldnt be concerned by the liberties he has taken to put this product forward. In the scene where sahana amazes those guys with the new tech (and amuses us!!), what is wrong if she has shown speaking hindi in front of firangs…1st of all its an srk movie, so it is expected, and 2nd, most of the people all over the world dont like to see movie with subtitles. Otherwise, 90% of movies of Best Foreign lang Oscar winning movies would have given the run for their money to the Oscar winner of that year for Best Picture/Director. I think u should agree with me that most foreign oscar winners were far better than the Best Picture/director movie. Yes, what he woukd have done is let her start the lecture in eng, and then a hindi voice over, just like Gowarikar did in swades when srk gives speech in nasa abt the satellite…but that was gowarikar :-)…Srk’s aim was as usual keep the movie simple and mindless, so he went ahead with hindi speech

    2.
Its no where shown that he was buried :D….neither it is shown that he put to fire on the pyre…his body was brought in a coffin, just like it is done for soldiers/vips in india and all over the world. That actally brought this confusion…but when kareena throws the ashes into the river, it depicts that he was creameted with hindu rituals. when i worked as a critic, i was paid extra perks for finding or pointing out such mistakes :-)…but i am complete out of touch now, so i might have missed something, and i might be wrong on this point. If u see the movie again (i bet u wont :D), then chek that scene out again. (sorry for the spelling and gramatical mistakes…i am on my for and on road :-))

  188. Shweta November 2, 2011 at 1:50 pm

    Hi,

I read this post through a posting on FB and all things aside, I found the write-up entertaining.

I am not an SRK fan but I have seen RA.One and whether people agree with me or not, I found it quite watchable. I may not go watch the movie again but it was entertaining enough for one time viewing. It was much more watchable than Golmaal 3 or Bodyguard! If the kids aren’t going to spank their dad and expect others to laugh then they won’t even slam doors at their parents faces. RA.One is all about entertainment. I don’t remember SRK promoting it as a classic or an intellectual movie…so don’t go to watch it for that. Watch it for the animation which is really really cool..watch is for Rampal who looks awesome and watch it for Kareena who manages to look pretty despite being battered inside the car. The film does have moments that make you go “what???” but then most of the Bollywood movies are like that. Why expect this one to be different? Because SRK made it? Because we love to flog people who are successful? Or because we want our movies to be super realistic? I have watched many Hollywood movies of the super hero genre and some of them have been seriously flawed too. How do people digest that despite all the mayhem and warfare around the roads are undamaged? That the heavens still pour water as rain and not acid? If we can suspend disbelief for Hollywood movies, why can’t we do that for SRK?

  189. san kumar November 2, 2011 at 2:16 pm

Ra.One is one of the worst most brain-dead SRK movies I have seen in my life. I know there have been others like it namely, om shanti om, and rab ne banadi jodi, etc but since they were directed by farah khan it was easy and obvious to avoid them. But then i think it’s okay.. demand and supply. There is a demand for brain-dead movies by Indian audience. The proof is in the pudding with movies like Wanted, Dabang, Ready winning film awards.

The silver lining is so far it has been easy to spot such lame-ass movies from a mile away.. Farah Khan, Hritesh Deskmukh are all obvious giveaways and the easiest solution is to just not see them. Unfortunately this abomination (ra.one) was endorsed by a lot of good people and I too got tricked into seeing it. Big mistake. We thought twice about leaving the hall. What a waste of time and money.

  190. Akash November 2, 2011 at 2:33 pm

    Youre a Loser dude

He will earn 300 crores with this movie..People will still mob him wherever he will go even if this movie was good or bad and theyll go to watch his next movies too

Get a life..Do something yourself..Stop proving youre a waste by commenting on other people’s work

p.s. i am not an SRK fan

  191. Nikhil November 2, 2011 at 2:34 pm

It couldn’t have been “literally” mind-blowing else you would have been corporeally unable to write this post. “Figuratively” perhaps?

  192. Chip November 2, 2011 at 2:38 pm

    1) I thought your perspective sucks as you tried to find some good points even in a shit movie, then, half way through the essay I realized that you are doing the reverse engineering of Ass whipping 😛
    2) I wanted to join terrorist organization to kill all the rich people who make shit movies and cheat innocent people by making them watch their shit by promotions. Then I realized, it would look like ra.two 😛
    3) I came to know that they are planning to make its sequel and got seriously pissed of for their guts.
    4) Whatever man, the movie is shit and I regret watching it …. actually I regret being alive in the same world where people make movies like Ra.one 😦

  193. tiredofyourbullshit November 2, 2011 at 2:40 pm

I got tired of your crappy blog 10 lines into reading it. The movie was shitty but ur stupid blog dissecting the shitty movie is even more crappy. Get a life and stop crying ur a grown for Fuck’s sake.

Dil ki baat suna di….just awesome letter!!!

  195. Mandar November 2, 2011 at 3:24 pm

You are too good. Much much better than any other movie review writer. I laughed my guts out!!

  196. Manoj November 2, 2011 at 3:36 pm

Loved this one… Awsome work buddy.. keep them coming 😉

    P.S. I am not paid by SRK…….

  197. Seema November 2, 2011 at 4:08 pm

Best review till date. Awesome! Loveeeeeeed it. Watched it today. Horrible.

  198. Sweeney November 2, 2011 at 5:48 pm

I really loved him in Chak De and hated him in all other movies. SRK has to have some self respect and stop desperately trying to copy or compete commercially.

Endhiran/Robot was better by miles. SRK had to go and try to copy it. The result – a half assed movie that feels like shit.

  199. Kshitiz November 2, 2011 at 6:29 pm

We all hate SRK. Ra.One was a pain to be through and so was this write. It was only after watching my scrollbar that i realised i left the piece at about 20%. The rant is a wanna be sarcastic movie basher..

  200. Shreya November 2, 2011 at 7:10 pm

You are a miserable writer. Reading the blog was as entertaining as the movie.

  201. Shaun November 2, 2011 at 7:11 pm

stupid writer..u can write long long statements doesnt mean u can blame it fully on srk…the muv was pathetic..but doesnt mean even other muvies r bad..he is an actor not director.. so not everything can be blamed on him… u havent understood has acting talent enough dude..he is best in some of the roles.. n u know wat,now u r doing it like SRK’s recent acts.. chindhigiri…for publicity!
~ A SRK fan of muvies released before Om Shanti Om

  202. Makes_Sense November 2, 2011 at 8:31 pm

Hey awesome writer! Please write a similar review for Bodyguard or Ready or Delhi Belly. Just attacking one looks too personal. I will be waiting for your other master-pieces!

  204. Vinit Asher November 2, 2011 at 10:06 pm

Reading a intelliigent review after a long time!!! You are as entertaining as SRK!!! 😛

  205. Renzo November 2, 2011 at 11:45 pm

Wow, what an outstanding job this writer has done, I cant seem imagine how

much of his lifetime he wasted in writing this marvelous piece of crap.

First of all, apart from all contradictions, can he name a single bollywood movie

which has brought anything similar to the table in terms of technological point of

view, this being a breakthrough in terms of the visuals.

There can be enough reasons to hate a movie, a superstar, his work or his way

of doing things, but the writer once again does a great job in assassinating a

superstar’s skills. Not that this piece of marvelous crap can or will change the

stardom of SRK but just seeing the hatred of someone makes this approach

    look even more pathetic.

Such a writer is more suitable to watch Toonpur ka superhero instead or some

japanese anime which seems more suitable for his narrow puny mind.

He goes on about the mega marketing of the movie etc etc once again taking out

his frustration cause he doesn’t seem to have anything better to do with his life

than to ram about a movie that wasn’t as bad as he makes it look.

    The movie is catered to:
    1. Srk fans worldwide
    2. Anyone who wants to have a taste of juicy visuals first time ever produced in

    an Indian movie.
    3. Anyone who wants some entertainment (trust me people in the cinema hall

were entertained throughout even if they assumed it to be a one-time watch)
    4. Anyone just wanting to see the movie to later hate it or make up stories how bad it was. (Yes some people have a sad life and this is how they live it lol)

Apart from this, anyone who saw the movie knows for a fact that he/she witnessed something spectacular which was unseen in bollywood uptil now and SRK has indeed opened gates to this new realm finally.

Hating on the fact that it took inspirations from Tron/Spiderman/Terminator can only portray the shallowness of the writer in question here, and again his pathetic pov just to provoke some debate.

Also, rather than appreciating something good for what it is, some people just have to see a glass being half full and keep on whining why life is so unfair and why Rs.1000/- were not spent on something else.

For what it’s worth, my 2 cents are: the film is, was, and always will be the movie that opened gates to a new realm in Indian cinema.

Love it or hate it, it did deliver what it promised.

Note to the writer: Try overcoming your sadistic approach with broadmindedness and some optimistic thinking, life is tough we know but dont bring down someone/something else just because you cant learn to live with your sad life.

    Adios.

    • Rishan November 3, 2011 at 7:07 am

You please watch movies like Citizen Kane, Rear Window all of which have no special effects and you will see what movies actually are.

This crappy excuse of a movie called Ra.One is just for people who have depleted brain cells from watching crappy Sharukh/Salman movies from decades.

  206. Abhimanyu November 3, 2011 at 2:19 am

I agree with the above comment. and with the ‘letter’ too. This movie was suppose to be watched by putting ur brains out of ur head…and as per the ‘letter’, not many people can do that..it was a torture for those who like intellectual movies or proper comedy movies where humor is all about timing rather than stupid “baap ka poda”..
anyway, ‘letter’ is awesome..RESPECT to the guy who wrote..and bravo for the sarcasm regarding Taran Adarsh. He shud hv stopped doing his critic job years ago.
Anyway, bollywood is an entertainment market..and definition of entertainment is different for everyone. But yeah, Mr. Sharukh Khan spent 150 crores (or whoever produced ths movie). I just believe that it could have been spent in a way better way..apart from movies too.
    All the best folks…
    adios…

  207. Rajesh Bj November 3, 2011 at 3:34 am

    Good one Shwetha… 🙂

  208. D-One November 3, 2011 at 5:09 am

Spent Diwali Thursday afternoon watching this one, agree to every observation stated above, plus I am not sure if G-One has a good calculator, because the theatre hall didn’t had more than 30 people watching the movie, so even if double that number and multiple it with number of screens and number of days in first week. It doesn’t come-up with quoted box-office earning.

So, SRK get real …. public can read through you scam … please keep entertaining your niche – NRIs and mush addicts and spare us from your cutting edge sci-fi and heaven sake avoid projecting yourself as a creative person.

  209. bobE November 3, 2011 at 5:40 am

You forgot to mention – Dictated but not signed – Aamir Khan.

  210. Vinod Nair November 3, 2011 at 5:49 am

Your pen name is indeed true …and you really bark. Relax….. This is just another super hero movie and we got to appreciate the special effects and visual effects. I belive it was well done….indeed at par with hollywood movies too.

You have written a long mail …..with very little sense.

The fact is, every super hero movie.. since time immemorial had no logic at all. It was the special effects thats amazing, and makes us love such movies. Its stupid of a person to comment on a super hero movie based on script or dialouges. It like you are looking waiting for goals in a cricket match. Clearly shows, you understand neither.

I am not a fan of SRK, but happened to see the movie out of curiosity. Infact we got to appreciate the effort by an actor who has the guts to make a super hero movie in hindi …and which was indeed well made. The problem with most of the people like you is that you compare with the west. You try to ape them and are confused of what your are fundamentally. And here is someone (SRK) who has made a good attempt in making a decent Super Hero movie in Hindi. Its time, we appreciate and encourage activites in India rather than comparing some ones effort with the west.

I am sure the best thing you have done in life must be aping and appreciating the happenings in the west….without contributing much to activities here.

Clearly shows you are not an asset….but do try not to become a iability 🙂 take care and avoid writing…..its painful to read your comments 🙂

Dont Woof again please….come here doggy …take this biscuit and keep quite 🙂

  211. Akash November 3, 2011 at 5:58 am

Hats off to you boss.. Very well written.. I hope this is read by srk.. And btw.. Another add on for your points.. The kids shall also learn bout ass and boob grabs.. Future bright kar diya india ka srk ne! Hahaha!

the more i read your review more i wanted to watch ra.one so that i could relate that shit storm with your epic blog.
to srk fans, cinema is subjective you cant force people to like it,enjoy the movie and the blog exclusively.

  215. Shalini November 3, 2011 at 7:28 am

WORD! I keep hoping blogs like these will be enough to counter the marketing blitz SRK has going out there because this is the truth. Is it wrong for so many of us to feel like this guy has just duped the nation out of 170 crores (or whatever the REAL figure is?) and does not deserve this alleged success?

  216. Shalini November 3, 2011 at 7:28 am

Oh forgot the most important thing – Great job sir!! Very very well written 🙂

  217. Preea V Kumar November 3, 2011 at 7:46 am

Everyone has a right to their opinion.A bad movie is a bad movie is a bad movie. Some idiots here are saying Long live SRK -THEY should get a life.Crappy movies will be called exactly that whether or not someone LOVES SRK .This fan -bullshit is irritating ,just becoz u like soeone he cant do NO wrong stupid childish behaviour and mos of these so called Fans are exactly that having total identity crisis and no goals in life!

  218. Aadil Mehta November 3, 2011 at 8:13 am

    Dear Dowg,
First of all, hats off to you for attempting to be funny. Very frankly, read a bit of the letter and dozed off.. My wife thought I was dead or something. And good for you that you have been able to identify the trend, cynics are in fashion and become even more popular when they can pick on a popular public Icon, wait for them to go wrong somewhere and then cash in on their mistake.

I am pretty sure, you also wrote an OPEN letter to Dhoni before the WC quarter finals, telling him how he should step down and let someone else lead and then ran Naked on Marine drive to celebrate the world cup win, screaming India is the the best, Dhoni is God. I am also sure you are the types who would ve told Mr. Amitabh Bachan that his time is up and that he should stop acting, and then secretly tweeted him about how great he is just in order to get noticed and retweeted. I am also pretty sure you ll be the first one to spend another 1000 rs on DON2 and hope that it has some serious flaws which can make way for another lousy open letter to Farhan Akthar this time.

Makes me wonder, why people love it so much when someone fails to make a mark. May be its something to do with that you youself have done nothing bigger in life than writing this OPEN LETTER. I am sure you ll find people who will support you in pulling a great star’s pants down cos there are lots of jeallous people who love writing against great people to get noticed . Honestly, try being 1/1000th as good as these icons and then you words will have more weight.. Until then Get well soon..nice try.. .

  219. turmoilturbulence November 3, 2011 at 8:34 am

    very true 🙂
    loved reading it…

  220. Invictus November 3, 2011 at 8:49 am

Dude , you went to watch a movie . Hope you read the “Disclaimer” at the start of the movie . You need a break . Chill .

  221. Jena November 3, 2011 at 8:58 am

why is there such a lot of hate-press and cruel jokes on Ra One. Yes it may not be a classic in the annals of Indian cinema, but the technology & VFX is a first in Indian cinema along with some popular music tunes & kids/gaming experts & teens loved the film. It is definitely better than a lot of crap that has churned out of the cinema world.

  222. SD November 3, 2011 at 8:58 am

Not t oendorse the movie, but i keep wondering if this movie was really good in all departments mentioned by you…….would your post be popular? So i think you have actually mastered the art of selling “products” better than SRK.
Also, did our “so much in tune with hollywood flicks” generation rant about the absolute master-piece of shit movie Avatar? Oh wait no, that was cool because it was like any hindi movie (earlier remade as the last samurai) in 3 fucking D.
Thirdly knowing what you will get (in the beginning of the year as per your post) and yet going for it 10 months later and then blaming it on the “conspiracy” of others…..i think you should be the one providing lessons to people here. Lessons on marketing crap opinions on crap itself.
Lastly, in the theatres there are big red signs that read EXIT and can be used for the intended purpose, which i am sure was missed by you as you were busy formulating this letter.
You should actually team up with “The Madrasan” and voila we would have our very own bonnie and clyde of blogger world.
(p.s – i am a hard core brad pitt fan)

  223. Some-One November 3, 2011 at 8:58 am

    Dear Dowg,

I think you probably didn’t notice the details in the movie because you were too busy making points in your head to write this marvellous open letter. The whole mixing of religions point that you have gloriously made describing Kareena Kapoor sprinkling his ashes after her was ‘buried’ is absolutely mistaken. It was a crematorium where he was burnt, not buried, and that is how crematoriums work in the UK. They burn the body in the coffin. Hence the scene seems quite justified. Sad that while scrutinizing every single aspect of the movie, you seemed to have overlooked some fine details which you have conveniently assumed as preducially as any other basher of the movie.

  224. Abrar November 3, 2011 at 9:45 am

Do not understand what is funny is this. Following is my review:-

Ra.One was a fantabulous film. The graphics are commendable. I think people in bollywood do not understand by the word ‘Cult Films’. Ra.One is one such Cult Film which has changed the perspective of Bollywood. Thank you SRK and the visual effects of his to make such an awesome film. If you haven’t seen this, you’re definitely missing the Big.One.

  225. Arya November 3, 2011 at 9:52 am

Nice post. But, ahemm, you are married? 😦

  226. abhishek November 3, 2011 at 9:54 am

Mr Doggy. If you compare the movie with all those of Christopher Nolan’s series you would obviously find the movie bad. SRK has done something good for bollywood, something what even your father wouldn’t have thought off. The brilliance in the movie is excellent and what more do you expect from such a Bollywood flick? Personally, i have seen the movie and i can say proudly that Bollywood has definitely got their latest Cult Movie. Three cheers for Ra.One, definitely a Must-Watch.

  227. Tusshar Malhotra November 3, 2011 at 10:07 am

I totally agree wid u on every word said…the ass is a genius in makin everyone a fool !!

Ra.One grosses Rs 170 cr in first five days, Break all Previous records

Ra.One, Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan’s most ambitious project to date, has earned Rs 170 crore in the opening weekend, distributor said.

Produced by Red Chillies and Eros International, Ra.One (released on October 26), grossed Rs 170 crore in first five days. The movie earned Rs 18 crore in India on opening day.

So far, it has raked in Rs 137.25 crore (net collection of Rs 96 crore) in India, and Rs 32.75 crore overseas.

“The film has created history by taking over the mantle of the biggest domestic earner so far. It has touched the highest individual collection in circuits such as Mumbai, Delhi, Punjab and Rajasthan. We see repeat viewings of the movie with the 3-D version being equally sought-after,” Nandu Ahuja of Eros International Media Ltd said.

Even before the release, the makers had sold television broadcasting rights, reportedly, for Rs 40 crore, distribution rights for Rs 77 crore, while music rights were bought by T-Series for Rs 15 crore.

This is indeed a MASTERPIECE!! Just like yours, my gut feeling had also warned me not to watch Ra.One, but then your post has made me change my mind… I want to watch it now esp. for the Chinese dude 😀

  231. Raaghini November 3, 2011 at 10:31 am

Grapes r sour for u.. u have so much time to think and write so much… obviously u r not doing anything worthwhile… besides movies r make bel.. u cannot take them so seriously.. nobody forces anybody to watch them..

  232. Preeti November 3, 2011 at 10:35 am

Oh god now i m able to understand why Aarush was asking me such questions in the night. I have not seen the movie so i somehow i was handling it by guessing the answers and you know what was his last question why did he made such game which can cause this kind of destruction, imagine he is just 5 year old kid who said it.

  233. Pramod November 3, 2011 at 10:36 am

Great Stuff…and some replies of people still shows that there are more idiots around who still like SRK 😉 Gud article.. I dream for one day when Indian Audience will like real Movies..not the KKKK KARAAN Comic Strips..

  234. Aadil Mehta November 3, 2011 at 10:38 am

Arey bhai, SRK ho, AAMIR ho ya SALLU ho, all of them have done enough good in their lives to be hassled by some lame ass wanna be – funny and famous- blogger… A part and parcel of being famous and popular is that there will always be some loser trying to pull you down..

Dowgie bhai ko get well soon wish karne ka aur hope karne ka ki unki acme koi ilaaj mil jaye

  235. Abhi November 3, 2011 at 10:43 am

I just love it….. thank god I dint see the movie and I still believe everything the guy has written is absolutely true… I summarized how shitty the movie is gonna be when I saw the first promotion video…… those 2-3 mins were enough of a torture….. why even bother watching the movie then…..

  236. hannan97 November 3, 2011 at 10:51 am

I seriusly think you got a looo-hohoho-hooo—ttttt of time in your hands…or is this your assignment for a phd you’re doing? but you’ve truly impressed me by writing such an amazingly long critic which I had no patience or time to read…i guess a few lines and your dot points were enough for me:)…good luck! Higher Distinction!

  237. Rajesh Bhatia November 3, 2011 at 11:08 am

Big Dowg,I hope you know the solution to all your grievances is; Next time, DON’T watch the film, when you have already made up your mind with the first poster release. Buy tickets for your wife and mum, and sit in the food court outside with a book. It might save you the embarrassment of ranting like a bratty teenage girl over the internet.

  238. Sid November 3, 2011 at 11:32 am

Absolutely hilarious. And thanks for the insight – I am gonna stay away from the movie.

  239. Suhel November 3, 2011 at 11:47 am

    Just a thought.

You make a movie, and it’s bad.

Now you create a hype about the movie so huge, and paint such a rosy picture, that you make people put their money in it. For example, you sell the TV rights to a bunch of people.
Now the movie is bad, and obviously, not making as much money as you’d thought it would from BO collections.
But you are already raking in the profits, thanks to the money people are investing in you.
Now, someone has to pay, correct? Else how is it, that you are still making money from it.

Answer: Simple, you are forcing people to see the movie, because if they do not see it, you do not make the money. You assault them with promotions on YouTube, steal the crucial first page of the newspaper, appear on KBC wearing your crotch hugging Tron/Ironman inspired “rubber” suit. If nothing else, they will be forced to see the film, just to see what the hype is about.

Channels end up playing the movie day in and day out, the commercials keep running for 5 minutes after each 3 minute clip, so everyone is making money. Who is unhappy, poor us the viewer.

Result : The movie is a success, economically.

Genius I must say, all said and done, SRK might look like the back side of a goat, act like what comes out of the hind quarters of a horse, but the man sure has the accumen to make money.
And it is not restricted to films, take the example of the IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders, you hire Ajit Agarkar, who is more adept at looking retarded than bowling well; and still be the only team to make profits in the first season.

    Impressive.
That said, those who saw the movie, try to get over it, because you have just made him richer, made yourself look stupider, and incurred the wrath of a million girls who at the very mention of SRK go weak in the knees, leave alone saying something against him.

    Cheers!

    • Aadil Mehta November 3, 2011 at 12:44 pm

Oh bhaiya, why can’t u digest ppl’s success.. Bada dil rakho.. SRK ney tumheri sir pey badook nahi rakhi.. Don’t go for it if u don’t want to.. He has put in his heart and soul.. And since ppl have invested in him, he will market it to the best of his abilities… What’s tickling your sorry ass? Relax karo.. What he does with knightriders is his problem not yours… Be happy for others, don’t have this crab mentality.. Get well soon

      • Suhel November 3, 2011 at 3:20 pm

        Aadil Mehta,

I believe you have either just hit puberty or you did not read the comment properly, or both.

Firstly, it isn’t a rant against SRK’s success, it is more of an appreciation of a smart way to make money. It is more of an psycho-analysis, as to how he manages to do what he manages to do. He has people who repect and appreciate him, and people who envy him. But that goes for all people who are successful.

My take is on his marketing strategies and how he manages to turn a damp squib into a money spinner.

I will get well soon, question is, how will you read this post? Will you read this as a scornful reply, or will you read it for what it is? Sigh….

    • SF November 3, 2011 at 11:08 pm

haha such a childish approach and you call this your economics?

If thats all that it took to make a movie a success then every tom dick and harry would be following your marvelously stupid strategy and make money off each and every movie they produced.

But wake up smarty pants, the hype, the marketing, the promos, the glitter, are all there to create an image of a product, it still is in the end-user’s hands to watch/buy a product or choose not to. No one forces you to do something, and it definitely isn’t the fact that someone makes you watch it while a gun’s pointed at your retarded head.

Get over it, neither you nor can 7 of your upcoming generations produce something like this or yet do anything productive as it seems from your approach, therefore the bashing is your only way out from your frustration perhaps.

And PS: Many movies fail even after having a heavy budget, heavy promotions, marketing and all that. And some food for thought for your little economic brain: There are many instances where heavily marketed products fail to click and the figures in sales are a mirror image to its success; the fact Ra.One has broken enough records already is reason enough to say the movie has proved its stability and penetrated into majority of masses as a successful venture.

You sir, are the niche audience, like the dumb writer here who just didn’t see the bigger rosy picture of what change Indian cinema witnesses with such a movie through all the plusses it possesses like the visuals, music, action without any comparison in Indian cinema productions and finally a step forward in the right direction.

      Cheers! No Offense!

  240. Nisha November 3, 2011 at 11:48 am

U r the stupidiest person in the world…
I m so pity that 1000 rupees meant to u a lot… If u dnt have a budget that u cant watch a movie then apne baap ko kyo duba raha hai… Abe bhikari srk k mannat k bahar baith ja bhik mangne.. Tere 1000 rupaye tujhe mil hi jayenge..
    Bhikari sale…

  243. TARAN ADARSH (BOLLYWOODHUNGAMA.COM) November 3, 2011 at 12:29 pm

See..how i see it is that it deserved 4.5 (or did i give 5?) stars for the sheer money that it gave (not to me, silly but to the distributors)..u all know that i have ALWAYS given 4-5 stars if the main criteria of the hero being SRK, Salman, Aamir, Akshay etc is met..sometimes i dont even see a movie…bcos i know tht these movies will take a flying start…Shahid used my name to promote his dumbo Mausam and now this idiot Dawg is doing the same..how cheap! u could have paid me (some respect, not truckloads of money sillies) and i would have allowed you to use my name!! TARAN ADARSH MAKES OR BREAKS THE CELEBRITIES!!

    Thoroughly enjoyed ur writing.

  246. Sandeep November 3, 2011 at 1:53 pm

My my – The comments are even more hilarious than the post itself. The author has all the right to express himself. The folks cussing him really are cussing his ‘right to expression’. It’s quite similar to someone asking you to not voice your opinions. Now, would you like that?
The author sure didn’t like the movie, that’s his business. EIther you value his opinion so much and don’t watch the movie, or don’t value his opinion, watch the movie and have your own opinion. But cursing him, calling his parents and relatives obscenities really doesn’t acheive anything. Shouldn’t you have a slightly more mature approach towards ‘freedom of expression’ where it doesn’t hurt anyone? If the author called one you an idiot, sure, now that gives you the right to call him a S-O-B, but calling him names because he said a SRK movie was a total waste of time and money – come on – what’s next – you’ll call Anna Hazare a liar because he says Congress is corrupt? (Shouldn’t have brought in politics, that’s ok). Grow up – it’s a decently worded post, not the best, but definitely worth spending 4-5 minutes reading it.

  247. ronit November 3, 2011 at 2:32 pm

@ Author- Fuck You!! And shove ur knowledge up ur Ass. Jealous Bastards!!

  248. Ranjan November 3, 2011 at 2:53 pm

I was seriously unaware that there are other SRK “NON-fans” out there… so glad! so glad! the relies to the blog from the SRK fan-club and his ardent admirers and even more fun to read! It’s like they know that they are covered in mud, and are just trying to fling it everywhere hoping that nobody else notices theirs! 😀

  253. anupam sehgal November 3, 2011 at 4:18 pm

ive been reading this chain reaction to a Democratic Blog, & now i have a headache. This cannot be more interesting thatn ra.one 😉

  254. vish November 3, 2011 at 5:07 pm

Brilliantly written and all true! The movie was the crappiest way some one could waste 3 hours of their life. And Shah Rukh Khan… is all smoke and no fire. His marketing skills and branding skills are worthy of a Havard case study for only a marketing mastermind like him can torture loyal fans willingly and charge them a premium price for the torture for it.

And seriously, people just because a movie does well is no guarantee of a good movie or vice versa. Partner was a hit and it was a rip off of Hitch and the shittiest movie ever! And a middle finger to all those corrupt and fake critics who gave the movie 3 or 4 stars with their lame ass justifications about how awesome the effects, fighting scenes, etc. were.

  255. Art-Vandelay November 3, 2011 at 5:14 pm

Very well written article. This lot of people who’v supported and agreed upon this view unanimously her might as well be called the ‘Matured Indian Movie Fans’ or what ever to that effect, because you are right, the film is rubbish.
They explain the problems that are socially relevant in OUR country more than theirs-population, social dogmas etc . THAT’s film making. Not tossing 170 crores to get good stars, good locations, a good item number, and effects, but a hollow nucleus with collage of stolen story lines and concepts, under the pretext of “Pushing bollywood to new levels”.

  256. janis j. November 3, 2011 at 5:17 pm

    ok so…first things first…mocking a child????seriously???go on u can damn SRK as much as u want….but a child…thats just distasteful!!!!
and big-chested????how low can u get???
i totally understand u not liking the movie and voicing your opinion…its your blog and its free speech….
but also i would like the links to your “open letters” for tees mar khan, golmaal 3, ready, bodyguard, ghajini, rascals etc….or are u suggesting that these movies were better than RA.one???
i am a fan of movies {hindi, english, subtitles} and although RA.one disappointed me too…but i cant fathom this outburst of venom…this is NOT the worst i have seen…ya maybe its SRK’s least impressive…but u were never a SRK fan…how come it affected u so much????

    • Dude_101 November 3, 2011 at 6:25 pm

dude i totally agree with you. this guy is a hater.. and to gain hits on his page and mundane life he is aiming blows spitting venom at this movie. and he is vulgar too with the big chested comment.

    • die RA ONE November 8, 2011 at 7:42 pm

I think you actually said GHAJINI, hahahahahahah, oh what bad taste in movies!

  257. Anish November 3, 2011 at 5:29 pm

You wanted to give hope to the many millions who have no etiquettes, lack common sense and are downright cowards with zero self respect but still desire to nail a hot chick. The specially designed pubic hairpiece was a masterstroke. —- epic!!! Hahahahahaha!!! well written my dear friend!!

  258. Rahul November 3, 2011 at 5:56 pm

not to forget the movie VIRTUOSITY…

  259. Dude_101 November 3, 2011 at 6:11 pm

    Tum sab chootiya ho.
jo ye letter likha wo bhi chootia, jo padha wo bhi chootiya. mai bhi chootiya. ghantaguy aur delihibelle sab chootiye.

  260. Armaan November 3, 2011 at 6:13 pm

    Hahahaha….Burying the body, then sprinkling ash…. 😀
Shit movie, guess you should have bought the ciggis…more enjoyable.

  261. Auro November 3, 2011 at 6:22 pm

As a child I saw Tarzan almost naked. Cinderella arrived home after midnight. Pinocchio told lies. Aladin was a thief. Batman drove over 200miles an hour. Popeye smoked a pipe and had tattoos. PacMan ran around to digital music while eating pills that enhanced his performance, and Shaggy and Scooby were mystery solving hippies that always had the munchies. Surprise, surprise – I am still a good guy! 🙂

    • z November 8, 2011 at 7:40 pm

sooooo, you’re saying you liked this movie? I liked your comment but will have to PITY you if your answer is in the affirmative!

  262. Amrita Deb November 3, 2011 at 7:12 pm

:)…well said.unfortuantely i also went to watch the movie. In the movie I was amazed to see that the whole game program was somehow running on several server machines.I was wondering how customers were suppose to install it!!!!.:O..
If the running game was causing so many issues, they could have shut down the server machine itself ..And finally they showed SRK was fighting with ra one inside the gane itself!!!..but how did it ended?…after ra-one gt killed the SRK’s son simply walked out of a door and came to real world from virtual world…I was about to faint :D.

  265. Karan Anand November 3, 2011 at 8:13 pm

Dats an awesome review man but inadvertently, you have gone too much beyond the line…with all due respect to the super-stardom of SRK…the movie was expected to be a lot better than it is…SRK promoted it like the biggest and the best thing ever to be happening in Bollywood..but alas, to the dismay of all, it doesn’t rank upto that level..Bollywood has done better work than this..whether SCI FI or no SCI FI…!!

  266. Prats November 3, 2011 at 8:28 pm

OMG!! u sure have done a research before writing this article.. i saw the movie it was unexpectdly pathetic..but 80% of the bollywood movies are like this only.. where instead of focussing on main idea they mingle many topics and then commercialze it.
I believe SRK is a good actor.. but whenever he tries to make a total masala movie.. it really sucks.

  267. Jolie November 4, 2011 at 12:21 am

FYI – SRK was the ACTOR not the DIRECTOR or STORY WRITER!!

    • Ani November 4, 2011 at 10:12 pm

when a film has SRK, he IS the director, producer, actor, cinematographer, sound editor, vfx supervisor, etc. anybody else claiming those titles are just bullshitting themselves

  268. hn November 4, 2011 at 2:22 am

Mr Dowg – yaar tum itne intelligent the … to gaye kyu muve dekhene 😉

  269. Aashish November 4, 2011 at 3:57 am

Can see your jealousy in the very first few lines and cant afford to read further…. You bugger, first try to earn that much respect and fame and then speak about others.

  270. Frankly Aman November 4, 2011 at 5:35 am

A befitting description of the disaster SRK sold us by force. I would rather watch Om Shanti Om than Ra.One

  271. Rahul Raghuwanshi November 4, 2011 at 5:37 am

    Very true….

    A true Business man SRK…

  272. Anirudh November 4, 2011 at 6:57 am

SRK is working on the sequel to Ra One…. Its being named GHA-TWO….. :p

  273. pragmatic@best (@Vks91) November 4, 2011 at 7:44 am

All above things were probably right, but hammering crowd-pullers lik sallu/akki seems wrong….as there film needs no promotion unlik srk,srk is one whose every film will bomb if doesn’t promote well…

  274. Nitin November 4, 2011 at 8:27 am

Loved the review..all the so called srk lovers have you ever wondered why the robotic act of g.one is same as the my name khan’s act? bcos i didnt see any difference..srk, stick with youf usual boy meets girl stuff..atleast your fans(the ones who think you hav ‘acting skills’) will be happy..i pity you..

  275. san November 4, 2011 at 9:37 am

  284. Ritesh v Chandan November 4, 2011 at 4:08 pm

    Dear, Big Dowg
See if ready n bodyguard can make 100 crs. While takin indian cinema in regressive mode, ra.one may b the shittiest attempt but atleast a progressive one.Atleast its made on a scale where people took notice of india and its capability of attemptin a technologically advanced ‘product’Even if it earns 150 cr. Its makin indian makers capable and daring enough to attempt such genre in a better way, wid a good script henceforth.

  285. Dibyajyoti November 4, 2011 at 6:49 pm

Todays or Yesterdays ABP: It does Rs. 85 thousands business in all bengal except Kolkata. The indication including kolakta is not good.

  286. Gaurav Jhamb November 4, 2011 at 7:19 pm

buddy…..i agree it was a concept which badly failed….but i guess you missed one really critical point in your review…and that is motive…..true it copied lots of hollywood flicks….a crap storyline where the kid beats his age in intelligence of computers…and the dialogues being a movie for children….but his motive was to make bollywood go leaps ahead and make something that can compete with hollywood…..

i mean come on,, imitating hollywood stories is not something new and since the movie released in many other countries as well, they found it ok to have such cheesy dialogues and make it a one size fits all stuff which definitely is not desired….

but just because you hate SRK you are being biased and over criticising a failed experiment which highly dissapoints but still is the beginning of a trend which revolutionizes bollywood in screen play and special effects….i guess you missed SRKs interview on a channel where he says that why do we talk about going to hollywood..why not make them come here…a nobel thought indeed….and atleast he has the courage to do so or should i say try doing so…

you hate him from the beginning fine….your choice but dont be too sarcastic and a cold sadist….you are free to accuse but please refrain from judgment…let the audience….decide…

  287. shivani November 4, 2011 at 9:20 pm

hehe…all jealous from SRK’s success as this film crossed every record of film industry by highest collections ever of 170 crores in just 5 days…..love u SRK..u and ra.one rocks…fantastic movie

I havent read this full yet. But seems to be good written. Comments are more than actual letter.

  289. anjali November 5, 2011 at 7:02 am

    dear writer
I think ur judgment was moron like u because u wrote in a paragraph that u like only 2 movies of srk still u plan to go for this.I want to ask 4m u if a company made only two good product out of 80(almost) in 20 years. can u go for its product i think no . your decision of buying product of that company tells how moron u are. and the movie liked by you is swades who didnot business well and also chak de in business not upto mark in comparison to OSO in the same year then why srk made a movie of ur taste which does not fulfil his or his team bread and butter if u want a movie only for u than pay him he is ready to act for u in your way.

  290. Nitesh November 5, 2011 at 7:23 am

I think this blog expresses what most common sense filled people feel after watching this movie Ra.One more like you.suckers.one, anyways sad thing is yes crap shit like these still get money and most people get carried away with the marketing gimmicks and glamour awe of SRK, they fail to see the content or beauty…

  293. Abhi November 5, 2011 at 8:18 am

‘An Open letter to SRK’ wow, what a piece of rant. Sarcasm at it best. But, why only Ra.One. What about the movies & games kids plays. You think, kids watch Ramayan all day. Great! Bravo! You think a kid learns cuss words only from a movie. Brilliant! If you are so bothered about what kids would pick up from this film, write an open letter to the cable connection guys or to MTV or to FTV or to the BIG BOSS team. So, after this amazing piece of lecture you gave about your insight on cinema, I am guessing you loved WANTED, READY, BODYGUARD or as a matter of fact MELA & MANN. Too good man!

  294. Tarun Singh November 5, 2011 at 9:13 am

    too good man………..plzzzzzzz watch each n every movie……..bcoz u r a true critic……….n thnx!!!!!!!!!

  295. Tania November 5, 2011 at 11:02 am

Hi u are entitled to ur views so wont comment on what u wrote but just one thing which i saw and thought will point out… SRK plays a south indian in the movie and he wasnt buried when we dies. He is “burnt” as per hindu rituals in an electric cremetorium as is the practice these days esp abroad coz they dont allow burning of bodies old style… the sliding of the casket that they show is the body going into the “furnace” as they say. No wonder the wife and child later had ashes
Would have thought that an intelligent man like you would make that connect considering u know of technology that came 10 years ago… sad that u could not and still wrote an essay on the film!!!!

next time get the facts right and dont make something that is right wrong
    cheers

  296. Lovely Singh November 5, 2011 at 12:54 pm

All you dickheads can just go FUCK yourself…….!!
you all say that Ra.One was a waste of time …….so what the fuck are you doing here, reading this thesis on Ra.One and getting involved…
If u did’nt like the movie……fine….move on man
(not that I am SRK’s fan or anything….i hate that asshole)

  297. Ajaxson November 5, 2011 at 2:11 pm

I would be more proud if any such digital effects are done indigenous that means not to get the special effects done by a foreign team but from direction to special effects should be done by Indian team. Just because you have money and get the work done by a foreign team, does not mean that you are bringing Indian cinema to a next level.
In contrary, I liked the movie because I did not want to compare it with any other American brand.

  298. Fuck the press. MJ is best November 5, 2011 at 4:54 pm

mind ur abusive language. Ur just a bunch of shits . How dare u said about MJ. When u dont know truth. It seems like u r jealous of MJ more than srk …. MJ is the most charitable artist, who gave endless money for many charities, even after his death he left a portion of his property for charity. Michael was the person who dedicated whole life for others. Heal the world, we are the world, man in the mirror, earth song all his masterpieces he made for world peace. Michael is the most loveble person in this planet than any other. Michael did alot for humanity, and yeah he is still the greatest entertainer in this planet, he has fans from every corner of this earth, every races. Every age. Everyones imitates his dance moves.
You cant refuse truth. Dont judge a person without knowing. !!
    MJ we love u. ❤

SRK has best IQ in the world – I mean Irritation quotient ; Haha

  300. Bharat November 5, 2011 at 6:17 pm

I saw first day First Show,
The Author has its own view and commentors have their own views. Every one has right to write on his own blog about their feelings and reactions about movie.
I feel storyline and Direction was not great as compared to acting and Graphics. We are used to so much of imported VFX effects that I felt it was normal when i watched. The story could not connect the audience. There was silly or real reason that Ra.one should have come out of Video game. We are tech savvy guys but imagine half of the India who do not have seen such kind of Games. There are many flaws in the script.
Krish was good example of sci fi things and it could connect well as Direction and story was very good.
Simple facts like Karwa Chowth came first, then Dashehara and follwed by Ganpati festival.. In reality its reverse.
When original write who alleged that this is his script seems to be quite after seeing the film (he many be thinking i can not write such a bad story)
In fact Higher promotion raised the expectation of the public and every one started looking at the movie wearing critics hat.
I feel this movie was better than Dabbang which was a Bhojpuri movie with good songs and good starcast.

These players have become smarter in releasing movies e.g. SRK release either on Diwali or Christmas there are ready made audience avialble who is because of holidays will watch any movie in lime light then,
Salmaan is making sure that he releases one movie on eid so that he has set of followers. No one dares to release a movie duirng IPL and every one knows the fate of movies released on Non Eid. Even though Body Guard had good collection but All the critics lashed the movie badly.
People have become smarter and they know which movies is to be watch in theater, which is to be downloaded from net or DVD and which is to be watched on TV after two months. The high price theater is killing. Average family spends around 2000 when they go out to watch movie and every one wants to Vasool their money. and once they feel that its not worth and then comes the anger and criticisim.

  301. Piyush Kumar November 5, 2011 at 6:25 pm

Well, the movie was a nice effort…. as good as this blog is. Keep it up dude and gear up for watching RA-ONE 2. I know, you will watch it (In fact everybody knows it). 🙂

  302. Piyush Kumar November 5, 2011 at 6:31 pm

Are you sure that the technology she was talking about has evolved ? did you really listen to her ?

  303. ruby November 5, 2011 at 7:55 pm

how absss jobless are you ?? to sit an rite a whole blog entry.. i cudnt even read de whole thin..coz i cant imagine a person soo critical nnegative in life.. u seriousl.y need to rethink ur ways of life…

  304. Ayan November 5, 2011 at 8:05 pm

The SEQUEL of Ra.One has definitely made up for all the losses Ra.One has encountered so far in terms of winning hearts rather than spinning money by bullying its audience. Not that the sequel casts larger than life super heroes but only a novice blogger who has dared to put up a brave in front of all those who are suffering from the trauma this movie has exerted on their minds. No… No… No… don’t be judgmental about me. I am neither a victim nor will I be ever. Meanwhile enjoy this post which is a better reflection of this movie to its truest sense.

  305. raw howl (@RahulNuthakki) November 5, 2011 at 11:15 pm

I thought it was more of a Robot-Krissh ripoff, Robot cuz of the train scene and Krissh cuz he could fly like he wants and whenever. Also, the Chinese guy was SO ripped off from Terminator, for sure! He must’ve replayed terminator a bunch of times and recreated Arnold. And, the kid was SO annoiyng! also, it’s funny how such an unruly brat was entertained SO well. But graphics were good, though. All the Sanjay Dutt- PC bit was unnecessary, And fail with the accents, both SRK and Kareena. Finally, Kareena had the best skin tone ever! 😀

  306. GoLive November 6, 2011 at 1:38 pm

Very well said woof. DDLJ is the best he have given to industry. Srk is not a bad guy but he is bussiness minded, he takes everything for money n fame. I m damn sure he will take all the awards from ra.1 n don 2 with the power of money. Paisa hei toh sabkuch kharidsakta hei…award kya cheez hei bhai..

  307. jyothidath November 6, 2011 at 3:35 pm

You, sir, are way over your head. Its just a movie.

  308. Bhavesh November 6, 2011 at 7:34 pm

I really think we’re not better at making sequels yet. But if there is ever a sequel to the movie, the bottom line is you’ll watch the movie to write a blog again. You’re getting hits because someone made shitty films according to you. So keep watching those shitty movies coz only then you would be able to write such useless blogs.

  309. Rajat November 7, 2011 at 4:38 am

One finds it hard to believe that you spent this much time just criticizing someone. You devoted a blog to it. Get a life brother. You may not like srk or his movies, but there are better things to do than going to heroic lengths to point out someone’s flaws. There is a term called introspection. Please look it up and then try and right eve 5 lines criticizing your own self. Let’s see how many blogs come.
As for you (and all others) who have issues with his marketing, try and spend even 1% of your money on something whose success depends on acceptance by others. Marketing is a simple business concept. It has been in practise for ages and in today’s world it’s importance is so much that people like have got be living in some caves not to be aware of it.

  310. sandy November 7, 2011 at 6:29 am

    1. SRK – bad actor who is getting paid thru the nose by billions for some unknown reasons.
    2. Paying a premium to watch a bad actor – Moronic
    3. Falling for big ass marketing BS and rushing to the theater – Millions of morons willing to part with their hardearned money for glorifying BS.
    4. People who still believe this is a good movie – I feel sorry people can be such idiots in this day and age.
    5. Pirates who host the movie on the net for free – You guys are life as well as money savers.

  311. Shejin Varghese November 7, 2011 at 10:34 am

Good blog entry but it has a big disadvantage too. Like others before have said, who are mostly huge fans and followers of the phenomenon called Shah Rukh Khan, you really didn’t have to spend or waste your time for blogging about this. I am not at all a fan of SRK but I sure know that he effectively owns a significant portion of today’s Bollywood industry, thus making him a phenomenon. There are far more bigger things happening so you might as well could’ve written and shared something about them.

  312. Sepoy Khan November 8, 2011 at 9:49 am

Taran Adarsh would have made millions.

  313. mukesh mehta November 8, 2011 at 12:31 pm

looks like this guy has been on salman payrolls or a srk hater!…..idiot!..ra.one rocks!!

  314. Sarabjeet Kaur November 8, 2011 at 1:10 pm

Thats really not a big deal. People like Amitabh Bachchan during his career has also given Some Bad Movies but some DARING people criticize and some leave it thinking “How can we criticize legends like Amitabh Bachchan”. Then why dont we should think the same with SRK,at the same time we shouldnt forget that the film was commercially success and one of the most popular news channel announced Ra-One as a “HIT” because SRK can never flop. You can call me a huge SRK fan but these lines are not out of that craziness for SRK but just to present my views on the article.

  315. Rahul November 8, 2011 at 5:39 pm

after wasting 2 and a half hours of your life by watching the film(as u think)… you wasted another couple of hours in writing this piece of shit…

  316. Ed November 8, 2011 at 7:25 pm

if a movie starts with 2 minutes of corporate arse-licking you know it’s a piece of a sunday morning floater!

For everyone else who criticized the blogger, grow some taste buds! He’s not being negative merely for fun it’s a laughing stock, this movie, that’s all there is!

And for the “sad-i’ll-settle-for-anything” jyothidath……. i agree it IS just a movie! A shitty one! You’ll benefit of you stop being content with mediocre crap!

  317. Akshay November 9, 2011 at 8:32 am

    Please for God’s sake… stop all this!!!…
I think SRK fever has gone into my nerves….everywhere there is SRK SRK and SRK….
Everyday on my Facebook profile there is atleast one update abt SRK…(this one was also on fb)
HE IS THE CENTRE of Attraction for all.. whether it is for positive or negative reasons…..
I would like to ask all of you a big question… why the hell are you all bothered abt the man…is he your friend or relative???…. he is a celebrity… his work is to gain fame….and i think he is doing very welll…exceptionally well..
You compare Akshay Kumar with him in 2007…then Aamir Khan and then Salman Khan…. if that’s not enough you bring Mr. Amitabh Bacchann for comparison…..
It really seems that SRK is SKY and everyone is trying to reach that level…

    • Akshay November 9, 2011 at 8:37 am

And Sorry i forgot.. now BOLLYWOOD is not enough for Shahrukh…. Now i have heard comparisons of TOM CRUISE with SRK…. phew!!!!
i wonder how he manges so much pressure….
Guys… u r the one who make him king…whether you appreciate him or criticize him… but u CAN’T IGNORE HIM!!!.. 🙂

  318. Kapil Chaudhary November 9, 2011 at 6:41 pm

Fuck off with SRK and his movie…………..

  319. Sneha November 10, 2011 at 10:05 am

    Awesome review!!!!

Just one thing- Indian cinema needs to improve big time!! It is so not about Bodyguard and TMK being more bearable than Ra.One, the point remains that all three of them are the crappiest movies of ALL time and should be trashed in a bin. But instead we have directors/producers spending zillions of crores in these non-scripts (while blatantly ignoring to pat script-writers what they deserve). Then they spend bazillion more rupees on the marketing and publicity of the movie. Worst part is all this ‘loyalism’, if am a loyal SRK fan, I HAVE TO SAY RA.ONE ROCKS and if I loooouuvvvee Salman, I JUST CANNOT DISLIKE READY OR BODYGUARD. Guys, these people do not even care for you so stop spending money and energy for their sakes!!! I mean if Tom Cruise made a horrible movie, no matter how hot he looked and how many fangirls he had, the movie will still tank in Hollywood. We need the same kind of culture here. So instead of cribbing over the blogger’s review saying other movies sucked more than SRK’s movie, just accept the fact that the ruling Khans (with sometimes the exception of Aamir who at least makes an effort to understand the script) are looting us! I’d much rather loyal fans stop fighting for their idols and promote movies like No One Killed Jessica, Udaan, Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster etc which have superb content and amazing performances.

We cud have invited Silk Smitha. Kareena’s character was singing flawless Tamil. Fcuk … even the mugger in the London street understood Hindi…woww India Shining… I still dint quite understand how a game dev company essentially a software company was able to design a working power source ..wait a min it wasnt actually a power source was it.. no it was… damn i got a small confusion there. I am getting tired due to the excitement. Bye

  328. daniel fast January 10, 2012 at 3:45 am

Thank you, I’ve recently been searching for information approximately this topic for a long time and yours is the best I have discovered so far. However, what about the bottom line? Are you certain in regards to the supply?|What i don’t realize is in fact how you’re now not really much more well-appreciated than you might be right now. You’re very intelligent.
